What a view! To be able to see 10% of the total of NSW from this spot is truly breath taking. We drove to the summit lookout in a small two wheel drive car quite easily but it would not be advisable in times of wet weather. It is only a short walk to the lookout area along a well constructed timber walkway. There are a number of small stairs to the top but all quite easy. Make sure you take a camera with you and a set of binoculars if you have them. Truly a must see if you are...

A perfect 360 degree view of the country you will ever see! There is absolutely nothing in between just the mountains and land as far as eye can see. Despite being 1500 m hight, the access is such one can walk to the summit using a few steps. it was kind of anticlimax as I was expecting a hike. Nonetheless very impressive view and worth going. There are cottages close to the summit and I wouldn't mind spending a few quiet days...

Mt Kaputar, it is a very winding narrow road that starts off dirt and goes to bitumen after a few kilometres definitely not suited to caravans and camper vans. wouldn't recommend it if you are not confident with narrow winding roads. The reward when you arrive at any one of the lookouts and definitely worth the drive. The small Circuit walk at Dawson Springs was lovely and easily doable with small children...

Nobody else on the summit, long and steep road, partially unsealed, but relatively easy to drive. Careful with the wallabies, wallaroos and kangaroos, had two near crashes as they just jumped out of the bushes - best not to go faster than 30 km/h. Literally saw hundreds of them along the road. Definitely worth it for the great views.

Beautiful and very easily accessible look out to the summit, only about a 5 minutes walk from the car park. Alternatively you can hike the Kaputar Summit Trail which connect Dawsons Spring Campground to the summit. There is also an information board with some interesting facts about this National Park and its predecessor reserves.
