We went here for a special occasion for the picnic they have on offer but I was underwhelmed. The food and drink was good but that's where it ended. I guess we got the short straw because we were placed at the end of the verandah, near where they stored the heaters when not in use, on a rickety table (was a fold out one versus the fixed leg tables lined up beside us) which is not ideal when you have a toddler. The umbrella for shade was also falling apart with the edges riped. We would have to go up to the tasting area to get any service. E.g. we had our table water bottle taken, but not returned so I was forced to chase this up. The view further out was nice, but don't look right over the railing that was sparse with dead brush. The front gardens were much nicer. Most of the service people were pleasant, though there was one older lady that seemed to be having a bad day with being quite short and unhospitable. All in all, it was an ok experience, but I wouldn't consider it value for money. Over 2 hours drive, and $60 per person for a small platter of food and a bottle of wine. We also ordered chips for $9, another glass of wine and one of those small bottles of bubbly (then didn't even have a large...

Date of visit 25 Mar 2017. We have been here a few times, but not in the last 5 years. The building, atmosphere and views are amazing even when the wetland is dry. This visit I was particularly taken back by the arrogance of one of the staff members, two of the other staff members were clearly friendlier and working harder to compensate. The ordering of meals and drinks separately was a bit bazaar, I guess there are separate companies providing different services. The kids enjoyed the wedges, the garlic bread was soft with hard crust and easy to eat. The Chicken Assoulet was dry, close to a chicken jerky, as sooooo salty my guest didn't eat it all for the salt and she had false teeth, it was too hard for her to eat. The Lamb kofta, looked tasted and had the same consistency as a Tuna ball, I couldn't taste the lamb, the Okra cous cous was very flavoursome but there wasn't enough wet contents in the dish to bind it to eat it. My international guest that had the barramundi ate it an never said a word about the meal at the end. My message to the arrogant staff member is this "Communication is in the message received not the...

I had always wanted to visit and finally got here on a trip to the Riverland. We booked for breakfast and had a delicious vegetarian big breakfast, fruit toast and coffee. This set us with energy to take on the walk. We opted for the whole walk which was worth doing. The walk was varied with the wetlands and then scrub where we say a few move of kangaroo and joeys relaxing in their mother’s pouches. The amount of bird life was incredible and we were lucky to have many of the paths to ourselves. We stopped at all the bird lookout areas so nearly walked 9kms in about 2.5 hours. There are shorter walk options if needed. The weather was variable throughout so be prepared. Cost was $10 to do the walk which included maps, walkie talkie if needed and water- sunscreen and insect repellent is also offered- would consider next time especially if warmer. After completing our walk we were welcomed back and enjoyed a coffee and wine tasting in the lovely cafe area. Highly recommend and wish we had...

Popped in on our our way west. We'd booked the non-alcoholic degustation plate. This is a new thing they are doing which pairs 3 food tasters paired with their 3 non-alcoholic wines. (Sparkling, Chardonnay and Shiraz) The food tasted great and the wines surprisingly good. We bought a bottle of the sparkling to take home. There's a nice atmosphere to the place with children catered for without being too kid focused. I got the impression they prefer bookings but we're able to cope with walk ins. The wetlands below have kilometres of walks which you can do. There's a sign suggesting a gold coin donation for them. And there's a turtle in the entrance area which is fun to watch. If we're passing through we would consider stopping again.

We visited Banrock Station in December 2024, leading up to the New Years celebrations. What a phenomenal place! The setting is absolutely beautiful, with a hell of a strong picturesque game that would feature on the cover of a magazine every day of the week! The staff were very attentive. We booked in advance which I would highly recommend. The wines we tried were stunning, a sparkling Shiraz and a rose. Really good quality and super tasty. The food was fantastic; the roast pumpkin pizza was delicious. Would highly recommend. Then we took a walk down near the vineyards and it was next level. Just the grounds, the scenery...it was all breathtaking. Absolutely loved it. You must check it out!
