When you leave the tar and enter the dirt road, it gets worse the further you go. 4wd only is an absolute must and experienced! Some of the road has deep ruts and water washouts that are not deep (after light rain) but the clay bottoms are very sticky. We ended up parking and walking the last 1 km to the falls as the road was almost impassable for us, we are not 4wd enthusiasts. If you wanted to get experience and deliberately go onto the worse of the track to see if you can get stuck and test your skills then this is definitely the place for you. The falls are nothing spectacular and the swimming hole is OK as long as there wasn’t too many...

Stunning location.

A car can get you to the concrete causeway on Bang Bang Creek but I would recommend 4WD if you want to drive the remaining 1.8km of dirt track to the dam wall to shorten the walk. A 10 minute walk along the walking path from the dam wall will take you to the foot of the falls. Great swimming location.

There are large boil holes in the bedrock on top of the falls that are worth the effort to walk up to see.

The only downside is the amount of broken glass bottles at the falls. Use caution when bringing kids.

There are many grassy locations along the creek perfect to sit and enjoy a picnic lunch and take in the beauty of...

Nice little place for a picnic and a spot a 4wding. Can also camp there and dogs are allowed which is a bonus. People should really take there rubbish with them when they leave really annoys me. Places like this will get closed to the public if we dont look after them, which would be a real shame. Best time to go is after very heavy rainfall. Recommend a 4wd or AWD vehicle to get to picnic area. Definitely...

You will probably come to this place when the fall is asleep. In summer, the plunge pool beneath the fall (running or dry) is cool and refreshing. If you come at times when the pool is drying, you will see the distinctive 'racing stripes' that form on the sides of the pool. The area can be a bit off-putting and at some times the 2wd parking area can be full of rubbish :( but the falls themselves are worth heading to.
