There is some confusion as to payment if wanting to drive in to see the dam wall area. Access to this area is free and open 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Follow The Cir Road and you will arrive at the wall of the dam. There are 6 car parking spaces at the corner of The Cir Road and State Water Road at the gates leading onto the wall. We parked here and walked the 3.2 km to the spillway which is located at the very end of The Cir Road. This walk offers good views over the waters of Lake Burrendong and Lions Island once at the spillway. Many fish and turtles could be see at the waters edge looking from the high vantage point of the road.

A good flat sealed road makes it an easy walk suitable for prams and pushbikes. The spillway itself is fully fenced and not accessible to the public. Pictures were taken holding the camera...

I have stayed at this place before and it was great. 12 months later and what a disappointment. Place is neglected with overgrown grass and infested with ants. The toilets and showers are infested with major ant issues. Not to mention the smell of the sewer is putrid. I need to fumigated my camper and throw all our food away due to the infested ant issues. You can tell they have tried to treat the toilets and showers but failed. Can't stay here and will never be back here again. Rubbish laying around from previous campers and no facility workers around to clean up. The place is happy to take your money and provide a putrid camp ground. Don't waist your time and money just...

Came to this place when first opened. Great spot Revisited 2021 easter. All I can say discracfull. Roads a mess. Kiosk nothing in it . Coffee machine out of order. Sour birch behind counter. We said good morning very nice day. Reply: how would I know been flat in hear to day. Doing what nothing their no customers???? Whole site is obviously in great despair And when compared to cottoned and glenbawn and even wyangula dams leave it for dead. No takeaway food available or very little supplies available from kiosk unless ice cream or drinks suits. Overhaul reflections/ nsw water / council Should hang their head in shame. We pay money for...

If wanting a view of the lake and nothing more, take a right before the gates for a nice spot to snap a picture. For a view of the dam be prepared to be completely disappointed when you follow the signs to the lookout only to find that trees surround the entire area so only certain spots on the edge of the lookout let you see beyond 10m from where you stand. Wait until you find out there's nothing stopping you from just driving to the edge of the dam and getting a better picture and view
