Booked a table for mothers day 2017 over the phone. Was told at the time of booking that mothers day would be a set menu with a glass of champagne on arrival for mothers. We arrived at the agreed time to be half-greeted by young, unprepared and disinterested staff. Was offered a table in the middle of a thoroughfare with views of the toilet. After politely inquiring if we could have a table by the window, we were told they were reserved (presumably for people more important than us). We eventually negotiated a window table (we were the only customers in the entire venue at this time).

After being seated, we were offered a regular menu, and after 10 minutes, politely inquired where the set menu and (promised) glass of champagne for my wife was.......after an awkward 5 minute fumble, the young staff eventually realised there was in-fact a set menu for mothers day and gave us a single piece of paper (for a table of 4). A more experienced female staff member eventually saved the situation by offering us champagne and took our orders whilst the young staff casually sipped a coffee by the cash register in full view of customers. At the end of the meal, we had ordered english breakfast tea, but were served some form of rose-hip / chamomile tea instead. We were made to feel like difficult customers by requesting the correct tea.

The only reason this received two stars instead of one is that the food was of excellent quality, was of good portion size and arrived quickly. Hardly a surprise considering we were the only customers in the venue at this time.

In summary, a nice venue with one helpful staff member whose efforts to improve our dining experience were genuinely appreciated (Anne?) - however the poor levels of service offered by the millennial / Gen Y staff was quite frankly cringe-worthy and completely detracted from our visit to Lerida Estate. We will not...

Wine tasting is great, with a very affable guy doing the tastings, and definitely worth a stop off if you are in the region. They also have a good selection of wines.

However, the cafe' is honestly the worst place to go for food in the Canberra wine district, and has prompted me to write my one and only negative review on Google. A pie and mash will set you back $26, and a very, very plain pulled pork panini is 18.5 ( to give you an idea of how absurd their pricing is for a cafe).

The worst is their 'Ploughman's lunch' however, which advertises that it includes prosciutto, and then only includes one very small slice alongside a stack of apple and cucumber. When we asked for another couple of slices we were charged extra, which was very disappointing given the circumstance.

Do yourself a favour and go anywhere else in the region, Lake George winery charges similar prices for real restaurant food, and Lark Hill charges more but provides so much extra for your money. Alternatively if you do want to stop off at Lerida for wine, and have a taste for average cafe food then save yourself money and fill up in Melbourne.

Shame on Lerida for taking advantage of people on wine tastings (and the fact that all of the better places book out quickly) with their...

One of the top experiences of our trip to Canberra! Decided to stop by on our way back to Sydney and it was definitely worth the visit 👌🏼 The scenery and atmosphere is absolutely mesmerising and serene, a true retreat from the usual hustle of the city.

From when we first arrived to the moment we departed, the service and friendliness of all the staff we encountered could not be faulted. They always had a smile on their faces and their work attitude made it an overall pleasant experience. Their love for what they do is evident and shows through their dealings with all the customers. A special thank you to Jacka and Tyce for their good humour and tremendous patience in dealing with us wine tasting novices.

With low prices that can't be found anywhere else in Sydney, and the valued experience of the workers, we couldn't leave Lerida Estate without purchasing some of their fine tasting wine.

There is also a cafe situated amongst a beautiful landscape. The perfect pit-stop for anyone driving by. Hopefully we will have the opportunity to return to this...

Beautiful location with a lovely cafe! I have to admit, I did not come here for the wine, although I am sure the wine is very nice! I travelled here with a sketching group and spent a pleasurable morning looking at the scenery and drinking coffee. The scones were fantastic! The service was very quick, even though they were suddenly inundated with a very large amount of people. The toilets were very clean and it looked like there were more formal sit down areas in addition to the casual sitting areas outside. The food and drinks were affordable and plentiful. The views outside are spectacular, looking out Lake George. If you are new to the area, or passing through, don’t expect to be seeing a large lake as normally it is empty. Instead expect to see beautiful rolling hills, dipping down into fields with sheep. It’s lovely. There is also a bowles (I think) set that anyone can use. Being a working vineyard, I would probably suggest that this could be a little difficult to tackle with a wheelchair, but not impossible.

Dropped in on our way home to Sydney from Thredbo, we thought we’d just have a look but ended up doing a lovely tasting of all the wines on offer. Our host was Theo who was very friendly, helpful and had some great information and thoughts on the wines on tasting as well as their other reserve wines. The location and tasting room is lovely and the restaurant looks great. There’s a charge per person for tastings but it’s fully refundable on any wine purchases. They really do have some lovely and interesting wines especially the estate Chardonnay, Shiraz and a particularly good Syrah. We were there late on a non school holiday Monday and it was nice an quiet for us but it can get quite busy on weekends.
