From the Lookout, it takes just a couple of minutes to walk up the ridge to the top of the hill, where it is possible to obtain more sweeping views to the south along the escarpment. There is a rest area located on the shoreline of Lake George directly below the Weereewa Lookout. Read moreStopped here for a quick rest on my drive from Sydney to Canberra. The view of Lake George is absolutely beautiful and worth the stop on its own. Peaceful, breezy, and a great place to stretch your legs.
But what made my visit unforgettable was an unexpected encounter—a red-bellied black snake casually crossing the pavement right next to my car. It was calm and moved away quietly when I approached (at a respectful distance!). A water skink also appeared nearby. Felt like nature was putting on a show just for me!
