A beautiful destination. I also know this as Lake Wivenhoe Dam. Its very clean lots of covered table and chairs area's. Alot of them have electric barbecue facilities which are always clean unless someone has used them and not clean up after themselves. It also has two big spotlessly clean toilet facilities the lower section doesn't have any but it's only a problem for those who can't walk up the hill or if you are in a wheelchair because there's no designated path from down there so you would have to drive up if you were set up for the day. The table area's are spotless the maintenance of the the who Park is 10/10 it has a cafe that is open on weekends not sure of time though and also has multiple undercover play area's for the kids. Please remember it's very dry atm and the water level of the dam is down and for fishing you need a permit. Plz check times of opening as you enter as this changes depending on the the time of year. Most importantly it's a very popular place for family get togethers and kid birthday parties on the weekend so if your planning a get together have a member of the family go early and save a spot because it's super popular. Pack sunscreen plenty of drinking water and have a great day out...

Only a short hour drive from Brisbane through some really lovely countryside, this visit comes highly recommended for those looking for something to do on a lazy weekend.
Really big and well maintained lawn areas with quality play equipment, covered seating and large table areas with fixed seating on stable ground and paths.
There are two large and well maintained (clean) toilet blocks and ample parking around the entire park areas.
With views of Wivenhoe Lake the park is a great spot to stop for lunch or break before driving back to Brisbane.
Wivenhoe Dam wall is just to the right as you exit allowing the experience of driving over the dam wall.
Taking the left exit will take you to view the Wivenhoe Dam spillway. With great signage, it provides a great explanation about the dam history and...
