It is not a famous waterfall and not many people go this way. There is a notice that there are stinging trees, so be careful. I started my walk late at dusk. You need to go thorough bushes and walk / climb through tree roots. After a while you will have a steep incline to the rocky mountain. I read another website which says not to take the ride up hill but walk in the creek. But it was too dark and there were fallen trees on the creek so I gave the walk up and returned. Hope this will help someone else to reach the waterfall. My advise is to start early with good shoes but be prepared to take them off or walk in water with them if needs to. It might not be safe for young...
Read moreWhat a special hidden gem located next to one of the most well-known spots in Cairns. You can access this spot from the Crystal Cascades carpark. It's on the very far left of the carpark when you face Crystal Cascades sign. You'll see a clearing that leads to a trail to the falls, next to the stinger plants warning sign. There's a flag rope when approaching the falls to indicate to not take the steep trail, but rather follow along the creek. I recommend wearing proper hiking shoes, also be careful as I saw snake and a spider on my trip. Getting up to and down from the fall from the creek could be a bit...
Read moreBeautiful falls. It was not very difficult to get Fairy falls unless going the wrong way. You should use your ear to catch water sounds & it's only 300m without steep climbing. When you meet a fork, take the riverside. If you are on a steep path, it means wrong way. It was good short exercise even if I went the wrong way. Less than 600m to the upper falls with a steep & slippery path. The upper one wasn't as good as the lower one, but beautiful also. The wrong way continues to somewhere, but I couldn't follow it after about 700m and turned around. Good...
