Lillypilly Estate Wines — Attraction in Leeton

While staying out near Griffith we did a search of wineries in the area and stumbled upon Lillypilly Estate. Having very low expectations based on some other cellar doors in the Riverina Area we were wildly happy when Robert, the owner, asked if we would like a wine taste. He was such a fantastic host who not only gave us a great wine tasting experience, but also imparted his knowledge of the local area and extensive family history. While typically we are red wine drinkers Robert gently coaxed us to give all his wines a try. And we were not disappointed with any of the wines and especially liked his own trademarked creations. This family owned and operated vineyard, winery and cellar door is just delightful. The pink velvet sparkling was a luxurious strawberry, peach and nectarine creamy infusion of flavours in the mouth. Like nothing I’ve ever tasted. And that was just the beginning. The rest of our tasting experience was just as delightful, and I could give a lengthy blog on everything we tasted and learned. Nothing disappointed us and we came away from this free experience sated, with our first half dozen bottle mixed wine purchase, as signed members of the quaint LillyPilly Estate. This family of Vignerons and Vintners have worked hard and lovingly to produce some of the best wines...

Returning to Griffith from Leeton along Irrigation Way a sign for Lillypilly Estate Wines lured us to turn right which proved to be a good decision.

Upon arrival the winemaker Rob welcomed our arrival at their family estate and we were treated to a splendid selection of their red, white and fortified wines which are selected by Qantas for their First and Business Class long-haul flights.

Biggest challenge was to leave this family's estate and find space in the car to accommodate our new favorite wines from the Fiumara family's Lillypilly...
