Liffey Falls is a great short walk for all ages to enjoy. Getting to it is about 5ks off the main road, carpark can get busy on weekends, suits around 20 vehicles. The track is well maintained and looked after. All ages can walk the track, with a moderate slope at the start followed by mostly flat ground until you near the falls themselves. Here you'll have about 50m of steps to get to the water fall itself. Older ones need not go down as there are three viewing platforms above along the walk. For the kids there are plenty of rocks to climb on and round.

Weather you go in Winter or Summer, this is a great walk. Summer allows you to get further down around the falls themselves as less water goes over. During Winter months with the rain the falls come to life with a heavy flow. I've been at both times of the year and the track is great regardless. The rain forest here is lovely and dense, with a myriad of trees and animals. The track is 3.2ks return according to my watch and is easily covered in less than an hour. The track has a small bridge, wooden boardwalks at sections otherwise just a well worn dirt track.

Weekends are usually pretty busy but not enough to stop you by any means. Through the week it's a bit quieter.

Overall a great track...

Waterfall and forest walk lovers like myself, you must go! This was an amazing visit! We took two trips. 1st day we went to the camping carousel at the lower end and took the amazing long walk up to the Falls. I took a lot longer because taking photos. The waterfall isn't massive and is absolutely gorgeous and mossy. There's a cool cave to the right. Second day we went via the upper Falls carpark and the walk was shorter but waaaaay more immersive and enchanting! Rather than a beautiful bush trek path it was all under the canopy of the tree ferns and forest. I'll let the pictures explain. Tree fern forests is something I've always wanted to see and it was breath taking. I nearly cried 😁 Some can be up to 10 metres tall and the oldest ones in Tas are estimated to be up to 250 years old! These forests are ancient and it shows. First lot of photos up until the liffy falls sign are all from the upper carpark shorter walk and the Cascades. Seconds lot after the liffy falls sign are all from the lower carpark long walk and...

Liffey Falls is an absolute must-visit if you’re exploring Tasmania! The walk to the falls is simply breathtaking, taking you through lush temperate rainforest with towering trees and the soothing sound of flowing water. The track is well-maintained and suitable for most fitness levels, making it an enjoyable experience for both casual walkers and nature lovers.

The falls themselves are spectacular—cascading beautifully over multiple tiers, creating a picture-perfect scene. There are several viewing platforms along the way, offering great spots to take in the scenery and snap some amazing photos.

Facilities at the upper car park, including picnic areas and restrooms, make it easy to enjoy a relaxed visit. The drive to the falls is scenic, though some sections are narrow and unsealed, so take your time, especially after rain.

Liffey Falls is a hidden gem that showcases Tasmania’s incredible natural beauty. Peaceful, pristine, and absolutely...

Very beautiful and calming waterfall. Love that the hike down you get to see different views of the waterfall before finally being presented with the whole majesty of it at the base. What makes it better is that the path down is also just as mesmerising as the waterfall. The beautiful tress and ferns that grace the pathway down is by itself its own attraction I would say. So you get a beautiful waterfall + amazing nature forest walk. The hike down probably takes only 20mins and the hike back up slightly longer due to the stairs and inclines, but there are plenty of benches along the way or big cut-out logs for you to take a seat and rest. The water is pretty calm so you can walk out among the rocks and take really nice photos.
