Dont miss this on your Great Ocean Road adventure. Details below 👇 Tall forest, diverse fungi, fern gullies, beautiful waterfalls, right by the powerful ocean! Our tips: 🌳 Most of our filming here was captured at The Redwoods Otways. A sequoia section of forest you can visit. Very popular for photography and you can see why 📸 ⏳️ Good any time of year to visit. Busiest in warmer months. 🚶♀️ There's a Great Ocean Walk through here, over 100km hiking! 💧 Sheoak, Beauchamp, Hopetoun Falls, Triplett and Erskine are all waterfalls you can visit. Good luck choosing which one to go to they are all great 😍 🍄 Look closely at fallen logs for so many different mushroom villages! 🙏 We recognise the Gadubanud and Gulidjan as the traditional custodians of the land here who cared for it, for at least 65,000 years! Whose visited or visiting the Otways? 😊 . . . . #greatotwaynationalpark #greatotway #otways #redwoodsotways #redwoods #australianrainforest #discovervictoria #visitvictoria #victoriaaustralia #thisismelbourne

What comes in your mind, when you want to see a waterfall ? I’m sure there will be number of factors. May be some of these: 1. It should be of decent size and shape & when you see ….its like wow. 2. Easy to reach the waterfall, not much of a hustle for a people who are not a regular hikers and want a normal walk and less of a distance. 3. A good place to take pictures, make videos for your instagram, youtube, tiktok and fb followers, or 4. May be to click a beautiful image for your self amd follow your passion for photography or videography. 5. Just for fun and to spend quality time with family and friends. Well you will be surprise, this hidden gem has it all of it. Its on one of the most iconic road drives of the world - “the great ocean road drive”. On your way to 12 apostle you will find this beautiful fall near Lorne. The water fall almost 15m down from the rock into a pool surrounded by beautiful lush green trees. The walk to the site from the car park is roughly 700m one side. Its a mix of steps & normal walk. On your way to the fall you can see beautiful veiw of the ocean and can talk some mesmerising shots of the great ocean road too. A short and easy walk to a lovely falls for those visiting or passing through Lorne. It is family friendly but not an accessible falls (no prams/wheelchairs etc). Park at Sheoak Falls carpark, about 10 minutes out of Lorne on the right hand side (non-Ocean side). There are no toilet facilities. There are some steps in sections as you head up towards the falls. Just before the falls there is a fork in the track: to the left leads to Swallow Cave which has its own small falls and the cascades of Sheoak falls, so despite some stairs leading upwards, it's well worth the extra walking and time. Overall, allow anywhere from 30mins to 1.5hours depending on if you hurry or take your time, as well as whether you do Sheoak Falls only or the cave as well. For those who appreciate geology, the rock formations on the left as you walk to the falls, as well as those at Swallow Cave, are quite interesting!

We were welcomed by a sign board saying that it's 15 mins track, so we thought it's gonna be like Cumberland Falls track which was easy. Buuuut, this one was another level. 15 mins walk was only to the Falls and if you want to explore more, Swallow Cave, you need another 30 to 45 mins walk. And all the tracks were one way, which means it took another time to walk back. And there was a picnic area on the top which means another time added if you willing to go. We spent 2 hours overall to explore the Sheoak Falls and Swallow Cave. The track was more challenging with uneven surface - big rocks, tree roots, spider webs (a lot of them) and other things-. Fyi, another group found a snake slithering around. Highly advised not to go when it's raining or wet because it's considered dangerous and very high risk. Please follow the sign board for your own safety.

Walking track just a few kms outside of Lorne on the Great Ocean Road. This walk provides some challenging tracks with some steep climbs. The track seem well maintained and signage is quite clear. We walked to Sheoak Falls which only took about 20mins. It was relatively small as far as waterfalls go. The next stop was Swallow cave, which was also unremarkable. The rest of the hike provided the challenging uphill tracks which took about 90mins before reaching the Castle Rock lookout which provided a view over the ocean. Even though the attractions weren’t very unique, the terrain and walk was challenging and enjoyable.

This one is located right next to the Great Ocean Road (well, pretty much), and I'm quite surprised that I've missed it during all my previous drives up and down the Great Ocean Road! The car park is right off the Great Ocean Road. Something to watch-out is that the car park is quite small and could get full easily. From the car park, it's an easy 700 meter (one way) walk to the falls. The falls area is really nice and is a nice place to spend some time enjoying the falls. There are benches and rocks you can sit on and if you take a nice little picnic with you, it's a really nice place to enjoy.
