Superb views 5/5, poorly signposted 2/5! There was a small sign on the Great Ocean Road indicating the turn off to Teddy's Lookout. At the T-junction with George Street, there were no signs! Does one turn left or right?? It would be helpful for those of us without a GPS, to have a sign pointing to the left! Teddy's Lookout is at the top end of George Street. There is a small car park. It is a short amble to the lookout platform which provides superb views of the GOR crossing St Georges River and snaking along the coast. There is a path down to a lower lookout, if you are keen to explore a little more. It was interesting to see the 100 million year old concretions next to the path. There are many, many lookouts along the GOR, but this one's point of difference, is being able to admire the winding road itself. Be sure to make this one of your lookout stops!

It's a nice lookout, you can see some of the great ocean trail next to the play of blue and green waters. If you look to the right, you'll also see luscious green carpet of grass next to a thin strip of water right in the middle of dense tree hills. It's quite windy at the lookout, but walk back a little and the surrounding trees provide sufficient wind blocking, making the couple of benches and seats practical for a little picnic. There's a nice trail where according to the signs, you may spot koalas! If you're game, you can also walk to the Lorne pier from the top (just keep going down till you reach the end and you'll see it on your right), you'll also walk past interesting camp sites with electricity and secured toilets (via keypad). No public toilet at the lookout, closest is down the coast.

Although you can drive to the lookout, I parked at the bottom next to where St Georges River exits to the sea, and walked up the tramway track to Teddy's Lookout. A fairly steep climb that took approx 30-40 minutes each way. This route also provided wonderful views of the river and on the climb up to Teddy's there are 2 other great lookout spots - Otway Ranges Lookout and St George River Lookout. I started early in the day and was lucky to see that a sand artist had been busy creating an 'artwork' in the sand at the St George River exit point. It was low tide so the artwork was still fully visible. Going past a few hours later I noted that the incoming tide had washed it away. In short, this is a must see place to go when in Lorne - you will not be disappointed with the wonderful views,

Teddy’s Lookout in Victoria, along the Great Ocean Road, is indeed a beautiful spot to pause and admire the breathtaking water views. The vista overlooking the ocean is truly magnificent, offering a tranquil respite amidst the natural beauty of the region. While the view is undeniably stunning, it may not hold the same level of uniqueness or novelty as some other landmarks along the Great Ocean Road. Nevertheless, it’s definitely worth stopping for a few minutes to soak in the scenery and capture some memorable photos before continuing your journey. Overall, Teddy’s Lookout is a worthwhile stop for anyone traveling along the Great Ocean Road, providing a scenic backdrop that perfectly encapsulates the allure of this iconic coastal route.

This point is one of the most beautiful points I've been so far on the great ocean road. As you'll be able to see, the road is seen small yet clearly as tiny vehicles use it. There could be sightings of whales too during the winter seasons, during which they breed. The location also could be considered a good hiking spot. BUT- look out for snakes! It distributes hiking trackers round itself of grades 1, 2 and 3. The parking area is free and plenty of room even for RVs. Any kinds of food or water isn't available at this particular point. Though the city below does have cafe and refreshment spots. As small the Teddy's lookout is, it still holds value and is worth a visit for its scenery.
