Provided direct feedback to Daintree River Cruise Centre via email but never got a reply. Here is the contents of the email:

We thoroughly enjoyed the cruise, and we were very excited to see wildlife including crocodiles, kingfishers and a snake. We were very impressed by the knowledge of our guide and appreciated his efforts to ensure we saw as much as possible.

We returned to the dock with just our guide and two other passengers, having dropped most at the ferry. Our guide docked the boat and sat down, continuing the chat we were having. Unfortunately, it was then that things took a turn. He proceeded to disclose his many opinions on topics that can only be described as conspiracy theories. We listened good-naturedly for some time whilst he discussed his beliefs, including that global warming isn’t real, Bill Gates is a euthanasiast who is trying to kill 2 billion of the population using vaccines, vegetarians are causing ‘raping of the land’ to produce soy bean products, and that men who don’t eat meat lack testosterone and therefore become ‘effeminate’. The nature of his diatribe and body language made it difficult to exit the boat even though we, as paying customers, were feeling uncomfortable. We remained polite and non-confrontational for the entirety of the interaction.

We were offended not only by his opinions but his patronising tone and crude language. Additionally, we were sitting in full sun, had run out of water (I am pregnant) and wanted to leave the boat. We stated we needed to use the bathroom, thanked him for the tour and motioned to leave. He continued to be belligerent, and frankly was quite hostile, laughing at us as we got up to leave and not bothering to thank us for our custom. It was a horrible way to end an otherwise thoroughly...

To say that the boat was the “most comfortable boat” on the river is a bit of a stretch. Not exactly “uncomfortable” but. Getting onboard can be a bit challenging especially if you have any difficulty in walking, use a “walker” Etc. If you use a wheelchair, forget it. The car park is located substantially higher than the boat ramp, so best to drive down a fairly steep driveway and drop off, then drive back up the driveway and park, then walk/negotiate your way down to driveway. Phew!! get the idea? Anyway, “Mick” The boat captain/tour director is a real character. Very friendly and accommodating. Definitely makes you feel welcome. When we went, Croc’s were a bit scarce. Something to do with the temperature of the water or whatever. We did manage to find a big croc resting on the bank of the river “full as a goog” having eaten a full grown pig recently. So Mick (to his credit) did his very best ripping up and down the river trying to find another or more croc’s. We did find another two sunning them selves on a sandy bank. The problem of course is, that croc’s are never guaranteed to be able to be found, so this has to be taken into consideration when deciding whether to go on a cruise on the river. A great day with Mick on the river, we enjoyed our trip and would recommend it, taking into account what I...

At first I was a bit sceptic about it as I saw they put 40 people on a boat ..and iam a solo traveler doing my thing. But it was actually quiet fun and the skipper was explaining a lot , so people were quiet and listened. With his funny and relaxed style the skipper quickly got all of us excited to be the first to spot a crocodile (was the first tour at the day). I selected this because at that date /time it was low tide. Actually that was a smart thought ..as the banks were free. But on the other side this also means that all skippers on that river just now figure out where the gems are..so tours ahead might see more. But not guaranteed , as many animals move and hide. So the skipper nearly put that boat on a sandbank trying to give us view on a big croc at a low river tide. Awesome guy. He shouted once when we needed to get off the sandbank to have everyone sit down as no one listened (or understands this dialect haha) but that was important and correct , as he brought us all back safe that way. So I really avoid crowds , but...

The Daintree River Cruise Centre is the pick of the bunch, not to be confused with nearby competitors. We spotted 3 crocodiles. A six monther, a year old and a fifty year old female that swam toward us from a creek off the river. Plenty of bird life too. On the road to Daintree, look for the sign (see image). Easy to book on line using Fareharbor, and if a coupon is on offer, usually a great discount too. The hour long cruise flies by. Guides are good boatmen and very well informed about the river, ecosystem, geography, history and of course fauna and flora. The picnic tables include out in the shade, or undercover. Beautiful gardens, easy parking, parking room for a van or three as well. Drinks are available, no food, so bring a picnic lunch if you're going to stay after the cruise (or before) Reception is friendly and engaging, free tea, coffee, cold water or cordial on arrival. Try and arrive 15 minutes before cruise time. Not a tourist souvenir trap! We've done it twice, no two cruises are the same. Well worth doing.

The Daintree River Cruise offers an unforgettable experience through the heart of one of the most ancient rainforests in the world. The boat was comfortable and well-maintained, making the journey smooth as we glided along the river. The staff were knowledgeable and enthusiastic, sharing fascinating facts about the wildlife and ecosystem. The boat driver was exceptional, skillfully navigating the waters and pointing out crocodiles, birds, and other wildlife with precision. Their ability to spot animals that we would have otherwise missed added a lot of value to the trip. However, one thing to keep in mind is the presence of mosquitos. Without DEET, it’s easy to become a target for bites, so make sure to bring mosquito repellent to stay comfortable during the cruise. Despite this, the overall experience was excellent, and the professionalism of the team stood out throughout the journey.
