Forest Adventures South West is an amazing place. The staff here are amazing, friendly and relaxed. I went here on one of their less busy days so we had everything to ourselves in the session. Arrived early as instructed and worked out well, they went through the safety course and instructions over that time leaving the actual two hours full for courses, I got through all of them, except course 1 as they recommended I skipped. Its more made for smaller children with smaller obstacles. They go through the safety course close to ground level, the instructor will go through it and show you what to do followed by yourself doing it! The safety here is amazing, the harness is only around the lower part, and the clips have a locking system, once you lock on to a course you will always have one clip to the safety line. Meaning you can't ever be up in the trees unclipped. They have currently 6 courses here up high in the trees here and also starter courses just off the ground.
Course 1 I said I skipped as recommended so I can't say much
Course 2 starts going up a ladder to about 5 meters in the air, going through ziplines, one with a rope hanging down walking across a tightrope. After crossing again with a snowboard and then finishing with a zip line and down a ladder.
Course 3 has more zip lines, a bike riding crossing and sort of a upside down unicycle as you sit and pedal with your hands, going across some more challenges and finishing a few more ziplines to finish. Sorry courses 2 to 4 I dont remember much of as 5 and 6 are really challenging and I remember more of that.
Course 4 is mostly all zip lines and is probably definitely my favorite, about 2 zip lines in you have to the choice of going upward or staying the same, if you choose lower it just a few more zip lines and finish, I didn't go this way. I went to the ladder and again up a ladder pole to a more fun and longer ziplines, finishing with their 150m long one! I really loved this one :) going around the last tree before the 150m one can be challenging as the tree leans and you can't fully stand up as you're going around, they give you rock climbing gribs to help you get around the corner.
Course 5 is where it gets hard, you start a rock climbing wall and make your way across a pirate walk the plank wood boards that go upward and side to side crossing to each one. After this you go across a zip line with a foot hole followed by a looping rope crossing to see the possum if you climb up to see him! Followed by a choice in the last part. One you can zipline across to the way down or swing across into a net, this was the way I went! It was fun! Ohh here's what gets ya, the way down... You jump haha You clip yourself into a machine that you jump into the air and it gives you about 1 meter of free fall before taking your weight and lowering you to the ground slowly! It's a challenge!
Course 6 is hard, you climb up the tree with rock climbing gribs, this gets you, I had to stop and have a break as my arms were a little strained! Next part is going across tree logs at different heights followed by a swing part that is quite hard with your foot into a holding like a horse shoe holding for riders and you have to swing across to the next one that has a gap between them which is what makes it hard. I just ziplined this one. The next part is an upward zipline then you finish by jumping down again but from a higher height than course 5
Its really fun and I fully recommend it! The money is...
Read moreMy daughter has been extremely petrified of heights her whole life (a few years away from being a teen). So clearly nothing had changed on the day we arrived at Forest Adventure. However, the staff and, of course, the layout and the obstacles on the different tracks made the whole experience so exceptionally more exciting, fun, and thrillingly scary. My young daughter was standing at the bottom of a ladder telling me, "I'm not sure of this mum." I tried to encourage her, and the next minute, she started to climb the ladder. Waiting for me at the top, she again looked at me and said, "This is by far the scariest thing I have ever tried, but also the most fun and exciting thing.... this is the best day of my life. " hahaha the last bit she says often, but I can tell you we have tried some great things, vild things, and some scary things. But this topped everything for my daughter! I will not say that my daughter is cured of her fear of heights, but nonetheless, she did, however, climb the highest course of the parks. Course 4 high 18 metres later and between her and I she was the one taking the lead throughout our time at the park. She proved not just to me and herself that she can do whatever she puts into her head.... but she proved it to the world, and she was bulletproof after that 😆
Thank you to the staff for your support. See you soon!...
Read moreI had previously been a year ago and went again recently with a group of friends. We were 10 minutes late due to a medical issue with someone in our group and got there while they were explaining the rules/safety. We were immediately treated horribly by two girls working there when we went up to the counter. We were told to switch to the session that was an hour away and agreed but then was told that we can quickly join into the other group and was given no time to discuss with our group. We decided to do the session we were there for and our friend sat out. As we were doing the tutorial the two girls were talking to us with disrespect and sass! They were rude and treated us like we were stupid when we were asking questions. It seemed unfair as the situation we were in was out of our control and I feel we didn’t deserve to be treated with so much disrespect.
I have read previous reviews and seems like this is a reoccurring issue and I understand how people rocking up late can affect the timing and having to explain more but it just added to our stress and made us feel worse! Treating the people with respect even if it’s annoying would be helpful as you never know what’s going on and those two girls were rude af… I would not recommend going here until they decide to train staff on being kind to people...
