AVOID THIS VENUE AT ALL COSTS! Never have I been so offended and disgusted by a service person. Do not waste your money and book elsewhere as this venue will completely ruin your day in the Barossa Valley. This business should be ashamed of themselves! We went to Chateau Yaldara on a very well planned trip to the Barossa Valley and as our itinerary included Yaldara around lunch time, we chose to book their restaurant for our Lunch. We were having the most wonderful day on our first ever experience in the Barossa Valley. On arrival as we walked in the door, the restaurant manager shouted across the floor at us if we were the 12:30 booking, then shouted the table of three by the window. On ordering, which we had to do at the counter, we ordered a chicken schnitzel as one of our meals. The restaurant manager offered us a range of sauces to take with the dish which we declined and just asked for a wedge of lemon. I was surprised to see the price jump up for a wedge of lemon and commented to the manager, oh you charge for a slice of lemon? Do you do that in your drinks too? I paid for the three meals. As soon as he took my payment he became very confrontational and rude towards me about the charge for lemon. I told him that I felt he was being rude and confrontational and walked away to join my family and wait for our meal. To all our shock he had followed me across the restaurant and began speaking to me and an extremely rude and argumentative tone in the middle of the restaurant. It was a restaurant silencing moment. I responded to him again that I found him rude and confrontational and asked to him go away and leave us in peace. He continued his tirade and again we asked him to go away and leave us in peace. He then shouted that he would not serve us and we would be refunded for our meals and drinks and told us to leave. We approached the counter where he processed our refunds and didn't say another word to us but the anger in his eyes and his adrenaline shaking body was frightening to see. At all times we spoke calmly but truthfully and this man clearly had outside issues affecting his ability to communicate with people. We witnessed him barking orders and speaking aggressively to the young female waitress working with him which we all found to be completely aggressive and unacceptable throughout or short experience in the worst ever restaurant experience I have ever visited in the world due to this horrendous and tyrannical...

Stepped into this gem of a location by chance and it turned out to be a delightful discovery. If you find yourself in the area, this spot is a definite must-visit, especially if you are a wine enthusiast. I was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional wine selection and the warm hospitality extended by the knowledgeable staff.

The charm of this place is evident right from the outside, with its heritage exterior that exudes old-world allure. Upon walking in, you are transported to what feels like a cozy lodge, complete with inviting chesterfield lounges. While the initial ambiance may catch you by surprise, the welcoming staff quickly make you feel right at home.

For just $10, you can embark on a self-guided tour that leads to a delightful wine tasting experience. What's even better is that they graciously allow you to bring your furry friends along, creating a truly inclusive environment for all visitors.

The wines here are truly extraordinary - each sip tells a story of craftsmanship and dedication.

With a setting that rivals the charm of France and a staff that goes above and beyond to ensure your satisfaction, this place is a hidden treasure waiting to be explored. I can't wait to return and hopefully have the opportunity to enjoy a meal at their anticipated restaurant.

From the beautiful cellars to the luxurious private tasting room, every corner of this establishment oozes elegance and sophistication. Whether you're a wine connoisseur or simply looking for a unique outing, this place comes highly recommended. Don't miss the chance to sample their vintage sparkling and muscat wines - they are truly exceptional.

This level of care and service truly sets this place apart, making it a destination worth visiting time and time again.

My family and I recently stopped by Chateau for a wine tasting and purchase on a road trip. The grounds are beautiful, the building is exquisite and the wines were quite tasty.

The staff serving us seemed to be a bit rushed with us as they had a tour group coming in shortly, however knowing we were spending money in the establishment should have allowed us the additional five minutes to be listened to properly when we asked to purchase 3 bottles of Muscat (on top of the 5 other bottles of wine we'd already purchased after our tasting).

My lower star rating comes from the fact that we discovered later that night after a day on the road, that the "Muscat" we were drinking didn't taste as good as the stuff we tried at the venue... because it was Port. Sure, it's a nice Port but we asked to purchase the Muscat and it is quite disappointing that this happened all because the server wanted to rush us out the door for a group of people who hadn't even parked the tour bus yet and with other staff in the building, it would not have made a huge difference to the tour group that we were there for an extra 5 minutes to be given the correct product.

Customer service skills need to be worked on and a couple of tips for the lady who served us, as she mentioned she was new, don't tell us all about other vineyards that you just visited and loved - they're you're competition and you're supposed to be selling us the product at your workplace; don't talk so much about yourself - ask the customers questions about them, where they've been, why they're there, what they like to drink etc; and if you can't find the right product, please ask your colleagues.

We really wanted...

Wines are decent. However, the experience was marred by a disappointing encounter with a staff member. My group visited as part of a tour, and we were the only Asians in the group. The staff member who attended to us, who mentioned his Irish/Scottish descent and his expertise in wine, displayed subtle but noticeable racism. Although we received service, it was laced with passive disdain. He consistently treated us with subtle acts of disrespect. While he engaged warmly with other guests, our glasses were consistently filled less than those of others (and even smirking as he did so, just so we would feel it. Seriously, we're not hard up for it, we just want to enjoy our day). He would make a point of looking uncomfortable as he approached us, engage in cheerful conversation with guests before us, and then immediately adopt a cold demeanor when interacting with us. The contrast in his behavior was stark and unsettling. This kind of covert racism is difficult to call out but must be addressed. Chateau Yaldara should, and can do better. Edit/Update: To the staff member who served us: You mentioned being associated with William Wallace. Wallace is a historical hero and a symbol of resistance and integrity. Your xenophobic behavior is a disservice to that legacy and to everyone who shares that heritage.
