Currently at Quobba blow holes, staying at the campground. What a terrific spot. Sealed road all the way to the blow holes and the camp ground. Hard dirt to campground area. Very full at the moment. If some took up a little less space, there would certainly be room for more. $10/adult + $3 kids, per day, can't complain. Dump points and rubbish bins. There are I'm assuming drop toilets near the blow holes, but as we are fully self contained, haven't used them. Great spot for snorkelling and swimming, rocky outcrops for exploring, beach walks and best of all, we've been watching the wales migrate north, as close as 50m off the rocks further down the road. 4wd not essential, but be wary of soft areas, although dirt road quite firm from our experience thus far. We're from Victoria and will certainly be...
Read moreAmazing scenery and attraction. Shame council ripping of tourists. $10 per person per nite for no services at all other than a sleep over in your own van or tent is a rip. Would seem council wants to turn the sit into a caravan park which is nice but price for nothing is steep. On another note. Worth visiting this place as blow holes are stunning to watch along with other natural beauty. At least these are still free until someone decides to charge. Only worth spending at least 2 days here as not much else but 2 full days is enough to see everything. If you want to sit back and chill you can stay up to 30 days however no drinking water is available with nearest source 70km drive away at Canarvon. No fuel either and you will need to bring your own toilet! Sealed road all the way to camp site so...
Read moreI decided to head out Quobba Blowholes to check out the camping area. The wind and the swell were up and the blowholes were working well. There were a few people that I thought were standing a bit too close for safety sake. But it was magnificent. I was surprised at how far the camping area stretched. There was every kind of set-up you could imagine and the only spots left on the day were very small and very soft sand so you would need to get in early. The Ranger comes around to check if you have paid the nightly fee. He was very helpful but some people weren't pleased to see him ( just pay the small fee and don't be a grinch) other people did the right thing and just had a friendly chat and off he went, All in all a great...
