Great location with amazing views It’s about a 15 minute drive from Mansfield and it’s a lovely vista as you drive into the winery with the vineyard and modern building that houses the restaurant On our first visit some months ago I thought …. Very nice winery - food was good but service wasn’t great - which was a shame. It was very busy there and staff were run off their feet. The menu interesting a lot if shared plates which is not my favourite thing but they were all very good - we had the Ossobuco, roasted vegetables, eggplant which we shared The desserts were good we had the special which was parsnip, grapefruit and pear which was really lovely and very unusual. The restaurant was very busy and the wine was excellent - the views incredible across the high country to the mountain ranges While I enjoyed lunch I really enjoyed the view which was really outstanding On this visit last Saturday we were quite annoyed by the miscommunication- when we called we to book a table for 8 we were told if we wanted to sit inside then we need to do the chef menu 4 courses for $75 - we agreed and made the booking On arrival we were seated and told the $75 menu was now 2 course for the sane price - the choice of the two mains were risotto & pasta - seriously ? While I have nothing against either rice or pasta but Neither are a main meal rather an entree (and they are both low cost meals) And how can two courses cost the same as four ? Very poor when we booked on 4 courses The poor waitress could explain what was the situation or about any of the meals and how we should order - it was all very confusing as we had questions and she just didn’t know (not her fault as looks like the goal posts keep changing) We then ordered food and had a few entrees to share - we were totally shocked when the pate charge of $28 (or about that - we ordered 2) came with two small pieces per serve and there were 8 of us ??? Again as nothing was explained it was very frustrating And seriously while the mouthful of food was good this is just a total rip off The mains we ordered were good lamb duck salad & vegetables- but again nowhere enough to feed us all and the duck was a shared plate very small on the bone (again maybe not explained what it was but this is part of the problem) After the main I was still hungry so I ordered the cheese plate - that was substantial and cheese good so really enjoyed it Dessert - affogato is with expresso coffee not plunger coffee and having a coffee machine with good coffee really lets down the restaurant Wine really good but no reasonable beer and had run out of larger which was not great Seriously disappointing as the views are fabulous….the food the little we did received was excellent so the foundations for a great lunch are there I hope they can just get the staff training and organisation of the fundamentals sorted because this winery has the potential to be totally amazing !

Visited Delatite Winery on a sunny Wednesday afternoon for lunch. An impromptu stop on the way back to Melbourne City from Mt. Buller Ordered the focaccia served with dukkah which was extremely appetising, the falafels had a good texture and was yummy. The pork knuckle was extremely delicious, served with super fresh and crunchy lettuce and a mouth watering sesame sauce. The brussel sprouts was a table favourite, so flavourful with a nicely sweet char-like taste. The autumn salad was the most appetising salad i’ve ever had. The pecan dressing was amazing mixed with whipped blue cheese for a creamy and tangy taste. Wish the sweet potatoes were more roasted/cooked as it was a little bit hard. Was too full to have dessert but my family and I had an amazing time being served by Janet throughout our dining experience. Very accommodating and warm staff. Highly recommend having food with a glass of their Pinot Gris. Side note: The buildings architecture is gorgeous! Love the greyish woody vibe. Super scenic view of the mountains

What a fabulous way to spend a Monday. The beautiful drive up from Melbourne with our UK visitor was the perfect prelude for what was to come. Such a warm and friendly welcome from Renata, followed by a relaxed and knowledgable wine tasting with David and Polly. Beautiful views from the new cellar door, menu compliments the wine perfectly. The focus on growing and supporting local produce, electric vehicles and sustainability is only the tip of the iceberg for this incredible place. Remember to stop by on your way to Mt Buller for some heart warming reds after a day on the slopes. Hard place to leave. Highly recommend.

Great location with amazing views

It’s about a 15 minute drive from Mansfield and it’s a lovely vista as you drive into the winery with the vineyard and modern building that houses the restaurant

On our first visit some months ago I thought ….

Very nice winery - food was good but service wasn’t great - which was a shame. It was very busy there and staff were run off their feet.

The menu interesting a lot if shared plates which is not my favourite thing but they were all very good - we had the Ossobuco, roasted vegetables, eggplant which we shared

After the main I was still hungry so I ordered the cheese plate - that was substantial and cheese good so really enjoyed it

Dessert - affogato is with expresso coffee not plunger coffee and having a coffee machine with good coffee really lets down the restaurant

Order the SET MENU to share, but the waiter said we would each get our own portion. The taste was unpleasant, bland, and the meat was not tender.

If this was your first time serving a SET MENU outdoors, you should have told us to move (there’s no need for unreasonable excuses). We were unaware of your restaurant’s dining manners. We arrived, and you remained silent—likely due to being understaffed, which we understood. However, you didn’t say a single word when we sat down. You just handed us the menu to order, which made us believe that our way of dining—sitting first and then ordering—was correct. And this is what frustrated me the most during your explanation. Tell me, HOW DID YOU DECIDE THAT 5 PEOPLE ORDERING A SET MENU SHOULD ONLY BE SERVED 2 SETS? WHAT IF 11 PEOPLE ORDERED A SET MENU—HOW MANY SETS WOULD YOU SERVE? WHAT IF IT WAS ONLY 1 PERSON? WHO ARE YOU TO DECIDE WHETHER WE ARE FULL OR NOT? DOES YOUR RESTAURANT ASSUME THAT WE ARE INCAPABLE OF BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOOD WE ORDER? DIDN’T WE ASK FIRST WHAT WAS INCLUDED IN THE SET MENU BEFORE ORDERING? AND IF WE AGREED TO ORDER, DOESN’T THAT MEAN WE WERE READY TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND FINISH THE FOOD WITHOUT WASTING IT?

I didn’t even eat because we thought we would be returning later. And now, we have to pay $375 FOR FOOD I DID NOT EAT. WE ARE DISAPPOINTED, FEEL BETRAYED, AND THIS IS OUR FIRST AND LAST TIME. WE WILL MAKE SURE NO ONE ELSE—ESPECIALLY OUR FRIENDS PLANNING TO VISIT MT BULLER—EXPERIENCES THE SAME DISAPPOINTMENT.

Best regards, A group of 8 people...
