A really interesting group of buildings, which show how a very early simple cottage was extended in stages. The front of the enlarged home faces north where the original road ran. The current entrance approaches the property towards the original rear of the house past the nice stables. To understand how the house looked to Hamilton Hume, who built the house, you need to go to the lawn north of the house. It is not obvious looking at the house, but clearly seen in the excellent model, the new front was joined the the original cottage by two roof ridges.
