We chose to go there for some photo shooting, thinking it would look good if we could get a pic standing inside of the maze. (THERE WAS NOT A SIGN SAYING DRONES AREN’T PERMITTED. IF THERE IS, WE WOULDN’T EVEN TAKE THE DRONE.) So when we got in the middle of the maze, trying to fly our drone and take a picture of us, a guy came yelling. The way he talked was really rude. At first he accused me of cheating and then he actually commanded me to take it down because it was not allowed there. I kept saying sorry while controlling the drone to land, but he still kept saying that I should ask first and call his boss to get permission. I didn’t talk back of course, trying to be polite and quickly land the drone with my phone. The guy, he didn’t see a controller, so he said loudly, “who’s controlling it? Take that down!” He might not realize but it actually ruined our mood for the day. After he left, we just found our way to hit the road again. It was a bummer when facing this kind of situation. If you don’t want people fly their drones here, why not put up a sign for it? And is it so hard to ask nicely for taking down the drone? Anyway, whenever we went to Margaret River again, we won’t visit the place ever. Totally wasted our...

Originally came for the hedge maze but ended up doing the mini golf as well. My daughter and I are extremely competitive and the mini golf course was a great - some were a real challenge. It wasn't busy when we played so we did veer from the rules a little which meant an embarrassingly high score for me on hole 7 - I should have stuck to the rules and moved on after strike 6. Cost me the game much to the delight of my daughter. The maze was harder than I thought it would be. So much fun. Took us 25 minutes to find the middle and another 10 to find the exit. The emergency escape was a nice comfort and we did have a giggle as we overheard a struggling couple laughing as they admitted defeat and exited via the gates. The gardens were beautiful. Great result for the effort the business put into establishing the gardens. The little mazes and extra games through the gardens would make it a great family day out along with the picnic/bbq area. You really could plan a day here with a family - especially one with young kids. Staff were very friendly and professional. Smiles all round which is great to see. Looking forward to coming back with my...

We only did the maze ($80 for family of 4). The gardens and picnic areas are nice and we enjoyed our time, but would have been a lot better if, like other mazes in Australia, had a bit more adventure to the experience - like if there were gnomes (or something) hidden in the maze that kids could find them all get small prize (on get a code, or something...).

The maze is impressive and in good state, but this was lost on our 10-year-old son who rapidly became board when having to navigate with really nothing to do other than find dead-ends and try again. Having visited other mazes where there was a challenge, he has embraced the hunt (and done the same mazes multiple times over to see how fast, find all hidden objects, etc...).

Picnic areas are great, plenty of shade and games/activities suitable for kids of all ages and the facilities are good. Would be worth brining a picnic lunch and make a few hours of the visit.

Only 3 stars as it is reasonably expensive and while the maze is impressive, the only challenge being get to the middle and back doesn't make the most of...

An astonishing place! Even the carpark is pretty! Our group of 8 had a wonderful time on a drizzly Winter’s day. In addition to the signature Cypress hedge maze, which was truly exciting and challenging, there were many other interesting, smaller mazes dotted around a botanic garden of remarkable beauty. I estimate 400+ species of plants, including a mixture of exotic and rare native Australian and West Australian plants, which are well-kept and beautiful to see, plus charming sculptures of reclaimed materials around nearly every corner. An incredible amount of effort has clearly been put into planning this family-run property. There is also mini golf, boules/petanque, giant chess and picnic grounds, plus a cafĂ© serving a range of tasty food. The entry fee and cafe prices reflect the expense of keeping a private property in such beautiful condition, and, as such, are reasonable. If you have come to have a lovely time, you certainly will.

Just a few minutes drive south of Margaret river town, this maze has been very well planned and meticulously cultivated. The main maze is massive and will challenge your spatial awareness. There are several smaller mazes which are a bit of fun, particularly for the kids. The gardens around the maze is also excellent parkland with plenty of trees to shade from the sun and benches to sit after a lot of walking and wandering around. If the kids are fed up with all the different maze options, there is a playground and other games free to use. We didn't try the mini golf area as it cost extra, but looked decent from the outside. Finally, after a lot of walking, there is a cafe on site for a decent range of food and drinks. Entry ticket price is a bit high, but the size of the premises and available options is clearly where the money goes. You will need 1.5 to 3 hours to really explore the whole area.

This place is a LOT of fun! From when you enter through the cafe and get greeted by friendly staff and pay for your ticket you go outside and they have games laid out everywhere. When you get to the maze its beautifully manicured hedges with cute little benches hidden inside aswell. When you succeed and get to the middle its great to see the maze from the top and then leaving the maze is also an adventure. There were cute little statues and gnomes and a large chess board which was fun and well placed under a shady tree. When we finished we went and had yummy ice cream in the cafe which was air conditioned (thankfully) great fun place!
