We had driven 3 hours from Perth and we were looking forward to having a nice tasting and some food with our wine. I decided to do my research because we are from Sydney and have no idea where to start. This place had almost 5 star reviews so we thought this place would be great. I booked ahead so we didn’t just rock up. There was only 4 of us so not a big group. All we were after was the tasting box to go with our wine tasting. When we walked in the female working was so stressed it was unwelcoming and made us feel very stressed. There was only about 10 people in the place. She was busy chatting to one group whilst we waited for her. She was not chatting about wine. We patently waited to be seated which took about 10mins. Others walked in and these didn’t pre book and walked straight in took the last tasting box and sat down. We still were waiting to be seen too. After another 15 mins of nothing I went into the shop and said to the lady could we please have a tasting box while we waited as we were really hungry. She then freaked out because there was no more tasting boxes. By this stage I was like look we might come back because you seem overwhelmed ( with the 5 people left) so don’t worry about it. She apologized a lot but I just felt like she could have handled herself so much better. It’s like she couldn’t do more then 1 thing at a time. I just wanted to write this review so others that are looking and driving around for ages don’t have the same problem. Maybe ring them to see if they have run out of food as this was at 3:15pm. My suggestion is ring. Especially if you need the food to have alcohol with because you haven’t eaten all day. But saying that even if we were just having the wine tasting we would have waited over half an hour and we had made...

Read moreWe have always wanted to try some of the smaller wineries around Margaret River and chanced upon “Walsh & Sons”. A Aud $10 wine tasting menu gives 5 sample glasses of your choice , White, Red, or Mixed which works out to be one full glass. (Wine Menu attached). It helps if you got a good knowledgeable server in “Cat” very friendly and took time to explain the various subtle differences in those wines. Love the Chardonnay even though I’m more of a Red fan. But the Pinot noir , Sarah and the “Roi” Cab Sav are by far the best. We bought a couple of bottles back. Interestingly , they have a butchery and their WAGYU STRIPLOIN, 500 grams at Aud $40-45 I feel is a steal by looking at them but we are not cooking. I really enjoy the friendly and chill vibes there and although there are cheese board and cold cuts, I wish there were some finger food there to complement the wines which would probably make me drink more. Really can’t go wrong with a...
