Lake Eyre Yacht Club — Attraction in Marree

Stayed at Marree overnight last week en route to Coober Pedy with an Outback Spirit tour. Walked around town...5 minutes...but visited the Lake Eyre Yacht Club. What a treat! Bob gave a great talk on the history of the Club, with excellent slide show, and spoke of all his incredible adventures sailing on Lake Eyre & various desert lakes when in flood. I like this club, glad it was open when I got here. I said I won't be buying any more trinkets, but somehow I walked out with a mug. The club house needs a bit of work, maybe a cash injection through an entrepreneur & run a cafe or similar in keeping with the vibe to keep it 'afloat'.
