I loved every second of my time at KaarakinBlack Cockatoo Conservation Centre!! Brought my Mum for a tour and our hearts were filled with joy seeing the awesome work that The Kaarakin volunteers do for these amazing endangered birds. Our guide was so knowledgeable about everything to do with the 3 x Black Cockatoo species and the info that he gave us was spot on. This is a largely volunteer run facility which is amazing, and the animals were all very well cared for.
What is frustrating is the lack of government funding for centres like this. Kaarakins facilities do need a bitve love, and without places like this so many of these rare, beautiful animals could go extinct.
If you're visiting please make sure to donate to help keep...
