Bowtells Bridge – A Beautiful Adventure Straight from the Heart I recently had the chance to visit the newly upgraded Bowtells Swinging Bridge, and I have to say—it was absolutely worth the journey. This new version is not just sturdier, it's also more welcoming, allowing up to five people at once—a big leap from the old bridge that could only take one person at a time! Walking across it, arms wide open, with the breeze and the gentle sway, was such a joyful experience. The view of the Coxs River below is simply stunning—serene, refreshing, and a perfect reminder of how healing nature can be. We started from Megalong Cemetery, and though it’s about a 6 km walk, it felt more like an adventure than a hike. The path is surrounded by nature’s beauty, and reaching the bridge felt like a reward in itself. It’s one of those places that really stays with you—not just for the view, but for the feeling it leaves in your heart. We made beautiful memories there, and I’d wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking to reconnect with nature and themselves.

Made the short walk from Coxes River Campground. Quite a few stairs up and down including one set thats felt like climbing eight floors. The new bridge is a significant improvement over the old bridge. It still wobles but not as much and it now holds 5 people crossing at a time instead of just 1. The River was quite a bit lower compared to my last visit a few years ago, more of the largs rocks in the river bed was exposed. Saw some people swimming amongst the rocks letting the water run over them.

By far the most fun way to get across Cox's River. Would 100% recommend if you are not scared of heights!
