Here this afternoon 26/5/24.

What a great place for the whole family.

3 mazes to go through, and a hunt for Gnomes and Fairies in the trees to win a small prize. (Prepare to walk)

Such a great idea because you will cover all the areas this majestic playground in the forest has to offer.

Not sure if it was a just today thing, but free tea and coffee were offered to us the second we walked in.

For the price it is definitely worth the visit.

Be prepared if you are going into the hedge mazes, the hedges are many decades old and have continued to grow and narrow the pathways in some places.

Boasting a brand new playground they really have put thought into as it covers all the ages from the smallest tots to the elder exploroers, with plenty of seating all around this area for the adults or the grandparents.

Well worth a visit but to get the best experience give yourself atleast 3 hours to do the mazes and hunt at a leisurely pace.

Only encountered the one staff member who was very friendly warm and welcoming and was wanting to make our visit...

Took my elderly mother for a birthday outing today. While the garden is quite lovely in parts (but needing some attention in parts as others have pointed out), beware the staff are EXTREMELY surly and unpleasant and lacking even basic customer service skills. I forgot my mother should receive a pensioner concession after paying for 2 adults. I quickly went back in and apologetically asked the entrance staff member to adjust it, showing her the pensioner card. After staring at me blankly for awhile, making me feel very uncomfortable, she quipped at me almost in disgust "it's only $2" then stated she couldn't refund back on card then very grudgingly proceeded to reach into the till and hand me a $2 coin. I was made to feel so stupid. No, it's only $2 but I made a simple mistake and my mother was entitled to receive a concession. This really set the tone for our outing. This lady might be better off looking for a job where she doesn't have to deal with the public. I'd rate the garden a 3...

Visited the gardens a few weeks ago. The front entry garden was good looking. The two hedge mazes were decent but it only took approx 5 minutes to navigate through each maze, near by was a nice large fountain area. There was nothing exciting after that. We used the map to navigate through the gardens and stumbled upon boring and lifeless plants. The only blooming plants we saw were some camellias and the lavender which was full of bees and poorly trimmed at the time, so walking along the small paths wasn’t great. There were some yellow flowering plants near by the lavender garden and that was it. If you live on acreage, you won’t be the least bit impressed, especially if you visit during winter. There should be a heavier discount for entry during this season. The rose maze was completely bare, it looked terrible almost like an unkept garden you would see near a cemetery. We didn’t see any rhododendrons or any hellebores (winter rose) It was definitely an...

We visited Ashcombe Maze with our young girls (2 & 4) on New Year’s Eve to spend the morning, We had a truly wonderful time in the gardens and mazes, aside from being greeted by such a lovely and helpful lady the entire venue was so well maintained the gardens are beautiful and shady, the fairy & gnome hunt was a really fun way to see more of the gardens with small kids keeping them thoroughly entertained the whole visit until we reached the playground. The playground was beautiful and really big, so much space for large groups of families to enjoy as well as being surrounded by heaps of shade and seating. There was bins in areas where people might sit and picnic, complimentary tea and coffee at the kiosk and the kids were given a special surprise on our way out which really made their day. We will be visiting again and absolutely recommending you to our friends and family! Thank you for a lovely visit and very clearly hard work in maintaining a stunning local gem!

I thought I’d seen the best cornhole around after Ol’ Grammy DonĂŒte showed us her cornhole. For over two decades, her cornhole reigned supreme in my mind. Unchallenged and steadfast as a core cornhole memory. Today, Ol’ Grammy’s cornhole has been removed from its mantle and tucked behind a figurative bookshelf to gather dust in my mind. This is thanks to Ashcombe Maze & Lavender Garden’s cornhole. The new prime cornhole experience that made Ol Grammy’s cornhole look like a 2-ply bean board. Regulation weighted Verao corn pouches meeting the 2023 ICHCB standards for Grade A comps. A stained walnut Verao GA-014B cornhole board completed the set which is my second favourite ICHCB compliant board. The scenic grounds adjacent the North and South Mazes provided a lovely lawn for 3 rounds of cornhole before getting lost in the South Maze for over 4.5hrs.
