This place is amazing! Walk the hour out and back plus allow another 1.5 to 2 hours to explore. The road out is easy walking - no cars allowed. You can ride your bike. So informative. Spectacular views. See where Harold Holt disappeared. See all the first, barracks, bunkers and observation posts. All landmarks ate well signposted with information. Fort Nepean itself has 6 gun emplacements. Most are open and the tunnels etc are lit up for you to explore. There are toilets at the end and places for you to have a picnic. You can stop a few places on the way too for a picnic. Take water, be sunsmart and wear warm clothing on cooler days. Take a torch for sections that are not lit up. A shuttle bus is available if you prefer for $12, jump on and off along the way. There are plenty of trails along the way. Which I explored. You can get maps from the info centre at the quarantine station or download or take a photo of the Billboard map at the Gunners hut where you park and start. Entry is free and I had an amazing time. You can also do the walk to London Bridge but you can also drive to it via London bridge road from Portsea. Thanks National Parks and looking forward to seeing your work of restoration continue and...
