Dog park 🦮hiking & picnic area. This is worth a stop if you are cruising the Dandenong ranges you can walk around the grass areas and down the walking track across the reserve, this track is a pretty elevated walk and only good if you are very fit beautiful country. This place has amazing stunning views over the Dandenong ranges,Yarra valley and the King lake national park also you can see the Cardinia reservoir, Mount St Leonard and port Philip bay, if you get your timing right the sun sets are second to none, there is a picnic table and seating but no bbq nor toilets on site but definitely worth the drive

Located in Kalista, This lookout point is a must visit for Sunrise and Sunset. Although, Sunrise is a bit hard to watch due to some trees, however, it is still beautiful in the morning to watch the place and enjoy your cup of morning tea. This place has some parking as well as benches to eat and drink. We went early today to watch the sunrise. Although by the time we went, Sun was already up but we did enjoy having our weekend tea at this place. I would personally recommend this place as a visit. I believe it would be really good to visit during the Sunset too as you can see lights too.

Love the lookout from this reserve. You can almost see 360deg. One side of the road leading in to the reserve you can look out to the mountains of the great dividing range, from Wittlesea right around to Mt Donna Buang. Mt St Leonard the highest point behind Healesville. Then from the reserve, in the foreground, you see Cardinia resevoir and the township of Emerald, but beyond that you can see Westernport bay, to the left, and 180deg right around to the city. On a good day you can see down to Dromana and across Port Phillip bay to Geelong area and to the Youyangs and to your right the outskirts of the western side of Melbourne. You can make out ships on the water that often often shimmers and looks silver in the sunlight. I love just sitting here and looking into the distance. It is a dog off leash area (Not feel fenced) and my dogs love going there as much as I do. There is lots if grass to run on and a walking track right around the reserve for those dogs that need to stay on a leash. A great place to picnic too, but no facilities and no toilets. 😕 Which is the only downer. The view makes up for this though! Do yourself a favour and visit even if just for the view. I would give this 5 stars but for the lack...

It is a great place for a variety of reasons.:

On one side you can see the south eastern side of Melbourne and on a very clear day with a pair of quality binoculars you can really see Cowes on Philip Island.

Because this place is on a ridge, there is also a great second view which is the Yarra Valley. Come there before sunrise on a crisp winters day you will be above the fog line of the Yarra Valley. Inside the fog you will see flashes of orange glow and popping out of the fog are the hot air balloons greeting the sunrise.

This is such a phenomenal site but remember to TAKE HOME...
