Love the lookout from this reserve. You can almost see 360deg. One side of the road leading in to the reserve you can look out to the mountains of the great dividing range, from Wittlesea right around to Mt Donna Buang. Mt St Leonard the highest point behind Healesville. Then from the reserve, in the foreground, you see Cardinia resevoir and the township of Emerald, but beyond that you can see Westernport bay, to the left, and 180deg right around to the city. On a good day you can see down to Dromana and across Port Phillip bay to Geelong area and to the Youyangs and to your right the outskirts of the western side of Melbourne. You can make out ships on the water that often often shimmers and looks silver in the sunlight. I love just sitting here and looking into the distance. I would give this 5 stars but for the lack...

Read moreIt is a great place for a variety of reasons.:
On one side you can see the south eastern side of Melbourne and on a very clear day with a pair of quality binoculars you can really see Cowes on Philip Island.
Because this place is on a ridge, there is also a great second view which is the Yarra Valley. Come there before sunrise on a crisp winters day you will be above the fog line of the Yarra Valley. Inside the fog you will see flashes of orange glow and popping out of the fog are the hot air balloons greeting the sunrise.
This is such a phenomenal site but remember to TAKE HOME...
