If you are looking to spend a fun day outdoors in the north, this might be your perfect spot. With sandpits, basketball courts and a free water play zone this could be your ultimate destination for a picnic with your family and friends this weekend. 📍Mill Park all abilities playground #melbourne #victoria #familydayout #melbourneparks #melbourneparksandgardens #kidsplayground #exploremelbourne #melbournewithkids #natureplay #melbournefamilies #todomelbourne #melbournemums #mumsinmelbourne #outdoorfun #picnicspot

This playground is one of the best spots for kids in Melbourne. It is huge and has so many facilities to explore. Our family drives to this in summer as it has the best free water play area in summer. My kids play in the water play area for hours after playing in a gigantic play ground where you can find everything kids want to try. There are a large basket ball court where bigs kids can hang too! on top of BBQ grills and benches for families and friends to eat can relax. If you are lucky in summer, you will see an ice cream truck :) I just love this playground and it is near Westfield so you can shop before or after the play. Perfect place to spend all day with family and friends while letting kids have endless fun👍 Just make sure to check water-running hours as water play is only available during summer. From my memory, it is from morning 9 to like late arvo 5-6 - fairly reasonable. Parking is really good and free! I never had a problem :)

A really great space for kids to run around and play, they will be entertained for a few hours which is great, it is all abilities however the park itself is more suited for children 4+ in my opinion, whereas the water play is all ages. It's a large space which makes it great for picnics however there is definitely not enough shade, I got there with my family around 11am and the only place with shade available was on the rocky/bark which was covered in ants and not ideal for a picnic. If you're visiting on school holidays and it's a warm day you should take your own shade as it gets super busy! I also would suggest the council invest in a shade over some of the play area as the metal gets incredibly hot in summer and the kids can't even touch the surfaces. Overall is a great place and wish there were...
