We arrived near the old Homestead and had a clear view to it across a paddock, but being a warm Spring Day opted to head to the beach via the scrub rather than grass due to possible snakes.
At the beach we decided to head right and check out the homestead and surrounds. There's some old stables with plaques for a Melbourne Cup participant from 1874, a defunct cafe, and some strange old food / horse / gypsy-esque carts.
Don't expect to swim at the beach - there's a lot of seaweed and rocks. However, expect to find different types of flora and fauna such as various birds, fish swimming in the shallows, kangaroo dirt-diggings, an amazing amount of sea anemone shells and mother of pearl.

Read moreFun place for kids. A great family beach with mellow waves and loads of sea shells for kids. Showed the kids snail eggs, cockles, clams, sea sponge, oyster shells. Love to teach my kids about the different sea creatures here and spend a whole afternoon. Lot of trees near the beach for a shady respite. Free BBQ areas completely covered for a sausage sizzle. Read moreBest thing about this was it just rough as nature wanted it to be but finding it trail from the car park was a mission. Park your car and then unlock the door, walk like 100 m and towards your right there is a big closed metal gate and right next to that you will small sneaky entrance. Beach smells horrible, probably was not the best time to visit (May 2020). I loved the train it was rigged and felt like I am out it some dense forest. Enjoy...
