Ruffey Lake Park is local to me and I have been there a hundred times all over the park. Today for the first time I experienced the Disc Golf course activity with two of my sons. This course is a terrific activity and winds it’s way through open areas and treed areas, taking in a variety of the terrain the park has to offer. It was a marvellous way to get some exercise, breath in the fresh and see the nice panoramic vistas on the high side of the park whilst having fun trying to keep your disc golf score looking good. It was great to see quite a few people playing this game in the park, including beginners and some that looked fairly serious with their disc buggies and other gear. Apart from Disc Golf, I love this park because of its size and variety of open area, lake, kms of windy paths, playgrounds. The park is serviced well by seating, bbqs, toilets at 3 corners of the park and general parking convenience. I have been to few events here as well including the Christmas Carols and the Food Truck Festival. This park is well worth a trip here even if you are a little out of the area. It is hard for me to find fault. Remember that there are no trash cans, so be prepared to take your rubbish home if...

The park itself is 5 star. 1- the entertainment and event on Persian fire 🔥 celebration was good.

2- the organizers did not consider many safety measures for the event.

3- the park and council did not enforce food and safety regulations at all. Parking were big issues.

4- the event organizers, park staff, city council did not provide emergency medical area with police protection. No clear path corridor was established for participant and People to walk. People put blankets and chairs everywhere and no one was able to walk to this stage or to the area comfortably and it was a hazard.

5- the security staff at the park was not adequate, could not be identified.

6- many other issues regarding food safety and hazard will be written to organizers, council and park staff.

7- Bath rooms ( toilets) very dirty and no attendant for such a big crowd with extra cleaning materials.

8- and few more issues Will...

This is one of our favourite locations we take our dogs to for an adventure.

Most of the park is off-lead, though it is not fenced most the park is away from main roads and main roads either blocked by hills or trees. There are many different tracks to take your dogs exploring that give you and your furbaby a variety to explore.

The dog community is very friendly and there are plenty of dogs for your puppies to play with. There are many different fields so if your puppy isn't getting on with some of the dogs you can easily move to a different area.

There are places you can take your dog swimming. Though most of the lake is fenced to keep wildlife safe. You must be cautious in summer months as this area is known for snakes best to avoid the bushes and water.

This is a regular park for locals and a must see for people...
