It's a bit of a walk out to it, but once you are out there, it's a lovely view out onto Port Phillip Bay. There is helpful signage to help you identify different types of ships and what they might be carrying. On the way out, there are also some helpful signs explaining the history of the area. The only reason that I give four stars and not five is because it is very loud on a windy day, but if you're ok with the noise, then it's a good spot to watch the water. I'm not sure why, but there are also lights on the way out and in the lookout itself, though I don't see any good reason to go at night. If you want to drive and park to get here, you need to put 'Sandridge Beach' into your maps app. Otherwise you end up at the container and shipping yards close by. Getting all confused with Siri saying "Do a U turn at....." when the road ends at the wrong area 😑

Park up at the car parks allocated for beach goers and its a 15 min casual stroll to the lookout, with public toilets and a park for kids along the way. Its very scenic and you can get some nice shots of the cityscape across the water of Port Phillip Bay. There are some little info signs of the area along the way. Keep an eye out for water rats! Or Rakali. I spotted a dead one...

What a great view of melbourne cbd. If you are into photography then this is a great place to capture the city. You may want to go into camel mode though as the nearest toilet is 16 minutes away. There is parking available and a small beach nearby. You can also enjoy views of port phillip and nearby shipping activities. Close by is princes pier which is another photography hot spot. Time your excursion nicely and you can get the moon over the cbd. Please note attached image is a quick...
