My wife and I got married in the Jacksons Point area on Sept 17, 2021. We had the opportunity to search for a suitable location for our Reception and Party afterwards. We had looked at several resorts and finally decided on The Briars Resort and Spa in Jacksons Point.

From day 1 with dealing with the resort staff at the Briars, we quickly learned that the staff were professional and competent in everything we encountered with them. At a time when it was most challenging with the Covid issues at hand and having some restrictions to deal with, they rose to the occasion and were amazing.

Michelle Poirier, the wedding co-ordinator, was fantastic. She listened to our requests and was very accommodating with everything. At a time when we were planning our dancing inside the great room a day before the wedding, we were told that we could not dance inside the room due to the then current covid restrictions. Michele took it upon herself to contact the Food and Beverage manager David Scott in order to assist us with our predicament.

David Scott within minutes showed up in the great room and provided us with an alternative that turned out to be nothing short of amazing. Briars had sent up an outside huge tent during the covid times and he offered us to have our reception inside the great room for dinner and then transform out to the tent for our dancing and party. The outside tent was fantastic as everyone could relax without the hassle of masks. David arranged for the bar to be situated at the tent for our guests. It was truly spectacular as the weather was perfect.

The food and excellent service along with the beautiful resort with all the amenities you could ask for made our special day that much more amazing.

We would definitely recommend this resort to anyone looking to relax and have an incredible stay with excellent food and service overall.

Again thank you Briars, David and Michelle for a sensational overall experience and we will definitely be back for a visit soon.

Have attended the Briars on multiple occasions as part of the yearly must do event we haven’t missed since our first attendance back in 2018…..Vinehop festival. As the winner of 🍇🍷 Vinehop’s “win 11x GA tickets with private bus and spending cash” 🍷🍇this year, very excited to be attending again in November 2025. Can’t thank them enough for being a part of the event and allowing us to sample local food and beverages and enjoy what the region has to offer, paired with the views across their property 🥂. Without the Briars and other local venues this event would not be possible and we have never been introduced to local samplings we now know and love due to this exposure to the regions little gems! Fabulous venue that has in recent years been my favorite festival hub and more recently the only festival hub! The Briars estate being not only accommodating, responsibly rehydrating & feeding thousands of vine hoppers coming and going in rotation throughout every day of the event, but also becoming the end of event party hub venue! Last year DJ John course finished the day off with 3 hours of everything I love, forcing you to relax, let go, and enjoy the beats you hear, filling you with nothing but positive vibes and forcing you to move your feet & body...

We attended the Harry Potter experience in May and found it to be good but not great. The lights were great but the line ups to case a spell were ridiculously long so we didn’t bother. The long walking trail was moreso that of a light show with a few scattered projections, large statues and ornaments. The hot chocolates and snacks along the trail were overly expensive for what they were. The parking was not arranged in a logical sense with cars parked too close to others resulting in difficulty reversing to get out - the space left between rows of parked cars was that of one lane. We’re glad we went to the experience but wouldn’t return if it was to...

What a beautiful place to spend a whole day. So much to see and do: walk along the boardwalk through the wetlands and sit in the bird hide and observe the waterbirds, visit the historic grounds and gardens and view the homestead from the outside, visit the Eco House and learn about saving energy, or the council nursery to buy some indigenous plants. Visit the information centre to learn about the history and ecology of The Briars. Then when you have done all that you can dine at Josephine's, with lovely views across the valley, or just have a picnic under one of the heritage listed trees.

Such a beautiful place to explore on the peninsula!! If you’re an animal lover, especially a bird lover this place is for you! Best of all it’s free to explore and you’ll spot animals such as emus, kangaroos, koalas and black swans living wildly. We purchased some heirloom seeds and were very tempted to buy some of the educational material on the animals. The cafe was lovely and there’s also a farm area you can visit where all the heirloom produce is growing. We’ll definitely be back!
