Steeped in history, the wool sheds are easily accessible from nearby Menindee. Fees required for entry to the park, make sure you have some cash and a pen. We really enjoyed how quiet it was, you can really lose yourself, much different to how it must of been in its day. Just beware of the kangaroos, we saw a big boy underneath the shed with a female and joey, eyed us off the whole time we were there, very intimidating!

One of the highlights of out trip to Menindee/Mungo/Balranald. The woolshed rather than be restored, it's restored to look and feel as it was. The self guided tour from the info centre is essential to really understand the flow/process from paddock to pen. There's so much more to a sheep shearing shed than I ever knew. Loved it!

Really well preserved woolshed giving a window to the past grazing of the region. Informative information panels throughout and a little 'museum' describing the history of the region through the late 1800 through to 1960s. Toilets (and showers) available and nice (i.e. flush!) - well done NPWS!

If you are looking for Australian history, this place is brimming with it. Built in 1875 and in full operation for a hundred years, this woodshed is enormous and absolutely fascinating. Take your time to read all the information posts to discover how life was 140 years ago where shearing was life for hundreds of men at a time. One can only imagine now what it must have been like to work there. So many incredible photo opportunities. If you make the effort to get to Menindee, you'll be crazy to leave without a visit to the woolshed and take in the River...

This is definitely a must see building from the past. It's been amazingly kept as it was, and you're able to walk through it. All the inside wooden gates work, and they're not conventionally hinged. Hopefully they will survive the attempts of uncontrolled children to destroy them as they use them inappropriately whilst their 'vigilant' mother tells them to...
