Merimbula Main Beach stretches all the way from south of Merimbula down to the north of Pambula, approximately one mile long. It’s rarely crowded other than the north and south ends leaving plenty of space in the middle section with heaps of room which makes for a great place to set your towels up the back area as there are no houses or other buildings and sheltered from the road and airport by plenty of trees and bush land, a perfect place to get your gear off and soak up the sun without bothering...

Open beach accessible via short walk through woods. Great fun for kids, nice fine sand, clear and clean blue water. Waves not big enough for serious surfing but still very good fun! Popular for dog owners and in spite of a sign to keep dogs on leash very few do so. Also, beach is probably few km long but only half closer to Merimbula is visited. Life saving services are not permanently present. Current is not that strong but certainly powerful enough to warrant you don't take your eyes...
