DON'T WASTE YOUR TASTEBUDS, MONEY OR TIME AT The Glasshouse Restaurant at Pambula Merimbula Golf Club. There were 16 of us and we arrived approximately 5:40pm 9th of January 2018.
The following is a list of all the meals we had and each person’s comments on their meals:
Martin - GODFATHER PIZZA $16.50 - all good no issues Lisa - GODFATHER PIZZA $16.50 - all good no issues although did mention that pizza was served on wooden board with a crack in it and did wonder after our experience if it’s truely hygienic. Danni - THAI VEGETABLE CURRY $18.50 - all good no issues Stu - CRUMBED PRAWNS CUTLETS (from the special board) $19 - all good no issues Jess, Ben, Piper & Max - KIDS SPAGHETTI BOLOGNAISE $12 - all kids found the meat cold (bowls were hot), all were sitting in a large puddle of water. Jess found a one inch piece of plastic in her meal (meal refunded), Max said that his smelt funny (his mum agreed) meal sent back and replaced with Hawaiian pizza (which he said was ok but on average side and didn’t eat much of), Ben’s meal was sent back and when my wife spoke to the chef and explained that the meat was stone cold on inside but the bowl was hot he suggested getting something else from the menu. Ben choose nuggets and chips and only nibbled on it as nuggets luke warm although chips were good. Piper said hers tasted like dog food and refused to eat it and it was refunded. Corine - ADULTS BEEF LASAGNE $19.50 - lasagne was cold and appeared slap dash on the plate and we were all thinking she had received the kids version (until we saw the kids meal). She swapped it for a Hawaiian pizza but didn’t eat it as it was cold on the inside so she threw it out. Becky - KIDS LASAGNE $12 - lasagne was cold. Beth - LAMB CUTLETS $29 - they had rubbery meat that tasted like fish. The coating was quite dark in colour. The mashed potato tasted like ‘Deb’ prepacked mash. The meal wasn’t fully eaten but no refund given as she was told nothing wrong with them. Rohan - BBQ CHICKEN PIZZA $17.50 - was ok and happy when he was eating it but raced home to the toilet and was on the toilet again this morning at 5am (didn't eat again until 24hrs later) Bob - CLASSIC PARMIGIANA $23 - average meal as it was cold with a rubbery doughy coating that didn’t seem to be cooked through and the chicken itself was dry. Aaron - MEAT LOVERS PARMIGIANA $26.50 - cold and left most of it. Rushed home for the toilet. Jayden - CHAR GRILLED BEEF BURGER $19.50 - ate chips first (they were nice) and then burger which was at room temperature. Approximately half way through the burger he found a hair in the patty. His meal was refunded. Josh - CHAR GRILLED BEEF BURGER $19.50 - similar to Jayden as chips were nice but he did comment that it didn’t appear to be off the grill. He only ate 1/3-1/2 as once Jayden found a hair he couldn’t eat anymore.
We asked to speak to a manager as by the time we found the hair we had had enough with the inadequate food we were receiving. My wife spoke to Scott and when she first mentioned that our daughter had found plastic in her kids spaghetti bolognaise his comment was that it had also happened the previous night but he wasn’t working then. At that point a waitress came up to him and said she had already recorded this incident down and required my wife's name and number and Scott said that she would be contacted by Ryan Clarke. (At this point she hasn't heard from him).
Speaking on behalf of my 2 boys they eat like there’s no tomorrow and for both of them to either not finish their replacement meal or be hesitant to start their meal something is not right. It appears as it the meals are pre-prepared meals that are quickly microwaved before being sent to the table rather than cooking from scratch.
We have all been to the Glasshouse Restaurant once or twice every summer for the last several years when we are visiting up here and have always found it great but after the experience and the lack of genuine concern by the staff we will never return. My wife did report the incident to the health inspectors at...
Read moreDon't waste your time going to this club. Myself & my 4 sisters went there 29/04/2017 at approximately 9.30pm to use their pokie venue, however when we arrived their was 6 people standing outside waiting in the cold for a taxi. When we commented and said "why don't you wait inside they said it's closed". We knocked on the door as we saw people sitting in the venue & especially a lady who sat their absolutely expressionless & didn't do a damn thing to notify staff or to jesture to us that the venue was closed. i had to ring the venue and ask if they were open or not just to verify and sure enough they closed early. Returned 30/04/2017 to see the upgrade of the club & left 10mins later. Waste of time and all I can say is the female staff member needs to have a cup of happiness! So glad we went to the other local clubs & had a ball. The service, staff & meals outstanding at the other clubs. So remember Pambula Golf Club it is your patrons that put food on your tables.....LIFT YOUR GAME BEFORE YOU HAVE NO PATRONS AT ALL! Oh yeh by the way you are the talk of the town as apparently a bus load of people had arrived at your venue only to find you could'nt feed them as you had no food. ...
Read moreAdmittedly Monday night out of season is not always a good night to try finding a feed around the Pambula/ Merimbula but having been to the Golf Club on previous visits we figured we were in with a chance of having a good meal. WRONG!!! It was a disaster!! Ordered Lasagne which isn't that difficult to cook. WRONG AGAIN!!! The filling was tasteless, dry muck and the lasagne sheets were uncooked like a pieces of hard plastic The cheese topping was impassable. When my husband soaked it with tomato sauce it had all been sucked up by the time he got back to the table as the lasagne was so dry. Not a happy hubby! My steak galloped onto the table still mooing. I don't mind rare steak but this was so under-cooked that it was un-chewable!! Couldn't see or taste any of the pepper sauce I had ordered. Another unhappy customer. We put down our weopons and retreated to Pambula and picked up a great...
