Ballarat Aviation Museum — Attraction in Mitchell Park

Karl is an amazingly talented and knowledgeable guide. For a small regional Aviation museum this one has an excellent range of display items, including 19 engines. One item, in particular, which took my eye was a working model of a wing fatigue testing rig. i googled the location for this place and it stopped right in the middle of a roundabout at Wendouree using googlemaps. we had a quick look around and it was no where to be seen, we ended up ringing the attached phone no and the gent said the address was ballarat airport, just out of town. we spent a couple of great hours there watching the old fellas restore an avro anson and we donated some money to help them keep going. awesome place, go...

Lovely quaint museum tucked away at a quaint airport.

Very reasonably priced for a passionate small endeavour, was fantastic to see some of the history of our local aerodrome as well as preserved aviation equipment.

I visited on a rather bleak, well typical Ballarat day…..but even with thunder roaring outside there was still plenty of interesting tidbits to explore.
