This is a perfect place to pay respects to an Aboriginal guide, whom helped Sir Major Thomas Mitchell on his 1845-46 expidition to central Queensland. The area has local Aboriginal tree carvings & Yuranighs grave in the middle. The grave has a headstone deicated to "his native courage" with historical background. While the ground (although faded) has an inscription from Thomas Mitchells diary of what he thought and stated about Yuranigh.

You have to go inside the gate to drive up there, through a beautiful green field. The grave itself is alright, but what I really enjoyed were the tree carvings. It gave me a nice insight into aboriginal culture and it's beautiful. A really nice place.

What a fantastic part of Australian history. The only time an Aboriginal and Western world burial ceremony was joined together. A great tribute to Yuranigh! #NSWscapes
