Mt Barker 'Barka Park' Fenced Dog Park — Attraction in Mount Barker

We have a Miniature Schnauzer which we take to the "small dog" park. We have continuing disputes with owners who take very big dogs into the clearly signed "small dog" area or owners who take "young" but enormous dogs into the area saying it's not safe for their young dog in the "big dog" area - they give no consideration to the risk their BIG dog poses to my small dog, not to mention they are clearly breaking the local bylaws! These owners become aggressive, threatening, and intimidating when asked politely to take their "big dog" out of the "small dog" area. Lovely spot to sit when it's a nice day, nice and safe for dogs who wander off, very clean and has fresh water for dogs and people Could use some more seating for when it's busy and a bit more shade for the hotter days Could also use some more activities in the small dog park, as the big one has tunnels and ropes and balls to play with whereas I've only ever seen a half chewed tennis ball in the small...

Some nice clean up has occurred however there are no large receptacles for all of the dogs to drink. The 1 tap is located away from the entry gates and what seems to be the main play area for dogs as it is grassed in one section. There is also only 1 small, ineffective shelter located next to the tap. Unsure if everyone's council dollars are being used fairly on...
