Be sure to wear some sturdy footwear with your bathers for this one, because to enjoy this stunning spot you'll have to walk almost 2km down a steep track to reach it! Some decent fitness and agility is needed here, our legs were shaking once we got down and we're used to this! Before enjoying a dip in the very bracing waters of the plunge pool at the lower falls, turn left at the fork to view the upper falls. Here you can meander the creek a little and view a large plunge pool between the upper and lower falls. Turning right at the fork takes you to the lower falls which is where you can swim. A large plunge pool funnels its way through the rock into a stream that can be equally enjoyed on a hot day. The water is very cool but very clear. It's not as shallow as Lady Bath Falls, but I wouldn't recommend diving or jumping either. The rocks around the water are slippery and we didn't have any reception. The plunge pool is deep enough so young children or those with limited swimming abilities should be supervised. During the hot summer season, it can be very busy: we visited later in the afternoon as most people were walking out. Be prepared for a tough hike out: it's a killer. There are basic compost toilets near the carpark, so make sure you go before heading down to the falls. Once you make that walk out, there's no going back - it's too intense! Further up the road at the Gorge and Chalet are flushable toilets and running water. This is a place you won't want to miss if visiting Bright and surrounds.

Not such an easy walk down there and back, but certainly very worthwhile with the first visual impression being ... WOW! I have photographed the scenic, serpentine Upper Rollasons Falls and the smaller Lower Rollasons Falls with its gorgeous emerald-green pool several times, and the walk seems to just get harder and harder coming back, very much so in hot weather! Make sure you carry enough water for yourself and/or others for the walk down and especially coming back, and rest frequently if it is hot. Note the water is clear, deep but *extremely cold* in the plunge pool at the base of the falls, but downstream, quite nice where it exits through split rocks to continue its meandering journey through the rocky ravine below.

I visited Mt Buffalo during Easter break, a short hike on the Rollasons Falls Track and had a wonderful experience! The walk down to lower falls of the hike was relatively easy and enjoyable as I walked along the creek on a short pathway. The incline towards the parking area was a bit challenging, but definitely doable. I personally found the lower falls to have a better view than the upper falls. Not crowded area we just came across a couple, who were there when we visited around 9.30am. Overall, it was a great hour and a half hike that I highly recommend to anyone looking for a pleasant and scenic experience.
