We visited Silver Spoon Estate in Heathcote on a chilly, wet winter Sunday, and what an absolute gem we discovered. Tucked away in the back roads, we half expected a more rustic setting, but were genuinely surprised by the beautiful, modern cellar door that greeted us.
From the moment we arrived, Tracie (the owner) made us feel so welcome. She struck the perfect balance between sharing her knowledge of the wines and just having a warm, friendly chat. Despite being short-staffed, the service was seamless - you wouldnât have known any different.
What really stood out was that our wine tasting was done as part of our table service during lunch. We live in the Yarra Valley, so we've enjoyed a tasting or two in our time, and traditionally tastings and dining are split into two separate experiences. This integrated approach made the whole afternoon feel more intimate and relaxed, something we really valued.
And the food - WOW! Chef Benâs menu was nothing short of incredible. So many winery restaurants either go down the âstandard fare with a vineyard view price tagâ route or lean too far into being overly fancy and unapproachable. This was neither. Every dish was upscale without being pretentious, full of flavour, and left us truly satisfied. We shared a few plates between us and have to say, the goat cheese brĂ»lĂ©e was unbelievable!!
Silver Spoon is a real standout. A beautiful setting, warm hospitality, seamless service, and food and wine that hit every note. Weâll absolutely be back...
Read moreWe spent a glorious sunny Sunday at Silver Spoon Estate, and it was nothing short of magical. The setting is breathtakingârolling vineyards, an ornamental wine garden, and panoramic views that create the perfect backdrop for relaxation.
The food was exceptional; we savored a beautifully presented charcuterie and cheese platter that paired perfectly with their outstanding wines. The Shiraz was a standout, but the entire selection showcased the estate's commitment to quality and flavor. Chamber of Commerce
What truly set the experience apart was the warm and welcoming staff. Their passion for the estate and its offerings was evident, making our visit even more enjoyable. It's also worth noting that the estate is pet-friendly, allowing our furry friend to join in the funâa thoughtful touch that made our day complete.

Read moreOverall, had a pretty disappointing lunch.
The venue was nice and once they turned off the football on the radio the atmosphere was good.
However the staff seemed to be really struggling to keep up with a half empty restaurant and ended up forgetting to take our orders for some time, then took down the wrong main and when we went to pay nearly charged us for a bottle instead of glass for one of the wines.
The wine itself was good, no real complaints I think had we just done a tasting we would have had a better time.
The food was pretty rough though. All came out lukewarm. Squid dish was a sloppy over seasoned mess, the Arancini was fine and the salad whilst bland was at least a large serve. The lamb ragu was particularly bad, it might be due to it being rushed out as the misplaced main. The sauce was watery and bland on just barely cooked pasta.
Yeah so not ideal, hard to know what's due to circumstance and what's the...
