Camped at Cromer Shed with family, friends and dogs. The kids had a ball building forts in the forest, walking and riding bikes, campfires and marshmallows. Great spot for families. Shed has 2 picnic tables, combustion heater and wood-fired BBQ. Outdoors there is a firepit, picnic table, 2 water tanks and longdrop toilet with hand basin. There is also a solar indoor and outdoor light. 28/9/25 Have just spent the weekend at Cromer Shed and it has gone downhill. There is no longer a combustion heater inside the shed and the indoor and outdoor solar lights were not working. The fire pit is looking a bit munted and the shed hadn't been swept out when we arrived. Despite all this, it's still a lovely spot.

Stay 2 night free camping at Chalks Campground with 2 other caravans. Got in just before the fire season started so had fires every night, love it. Sites 27 and 28 were nice and level and perfect for the 3 caravans. A lot of the sites are only suitable for tents so be careful choosing a site if you have a caravan. Bush walking around the forrests is great, we made it to the reservoir in about 90 minutes.

A great place to spend outdoors. Gates are open daily to the picnic grounds and are free but there are dedicated camp areas with fire pits. There are fees associated with camping and Rocky Paddock is a beautiful camp area surrounded with grass trees and large boulders. Additional info about forest activities can be obtained from the Rangers office on Warren Road. Mt Crawford Forest Reserve has a board walk in a section of forest that runs parallel with Warren Road. The walk is gentle enough for almost anyone. Very early morning or late afternoon kangaroos can be seen feeding in the lower plains or grassed areas, this is viewable from the board walk. There is also a bird hide along the board walk and there are occasional spots to sit and relax and watch the wildlife. There is an abundance of wildlife and birds as well as the ever-changing flora. Native orchids grow throughout parts of the forest from August to November and various fungi can be seen in the colder months. This area is great for nature lovers, walking, cycling, horse riding, camping or picnics. The forest is closed on days of...

Went there last week. Beautiful forest experience. We parked our car in Waren Rd and took the trail on forties rd .chose to trail inside the forest(radiata pine ). It was absolutely spectacular. Pretty deep forest full of tall pine tress, u will see a lot of mosses, fungus, dead , old trees and if u lucky might even see kangaroos. Theres also small ponds probably filled because of rain. Altogether beautiful nature's beauty! Highly recommended for anyone who loves quiet, clean and beautiful place to go for walk. Perfect for...
