Lots to see regarding the local area and residents of a bygone era. Pack a thermos with a warm beverage and a snack if you are in a hurry. Or you may need to go into town to purchase refreshments. There isn't a buffet car on the train. However, planning this will need more time so expect to have a leisurely excursion. There are picnic tables outside the museum and benches on the station but check the weather before you decide. Located at Mt Victoria train station. A beautiful sandstone structure. The station itself is worthy of exploration as they still use manual signage etc. Unfortunately, at the moment there are no ramps to accommodate easy access for the disabled. The stairs are steep and may be difficult to climb for those using a cane etc On the ground floor there is plenty to see and enjoy. Mount Victoria Museum has two levels: upstairs and down stairs and several rooms featuring carefully chosen artefacts to recreate some everyday scenes of yesterday. It is difficult to pick one display out of all those on offer at this Museum. Read moreGreat museum to visit, especially on a raining day! Lots of rooms to look in and so much to see. Everything is laid out nicely, upstairs and downstairs. So much history, the volunteer at the front was super friendly, had a great conversation with him about the ghosts that roam the museum.
