Carillion Wines — Attraction in Mount View

Outstanding vineyard that produces some unique and delicious wines. Very friendly knowledgeable staff, who will pour as long as you can taste. The attached cafe restaurant is reputed to be outstanding, one of only three in the Valley with a one "Chef's Hat"review rating. It was fully booked the day we came by, our loss. Book ahead if you can.

Wines are well made, huge range. Flint dry, feather light elegant whites to a "stomped" red that is just plain fun. I can't wait to have it with southern Italian food. Their high end Reds are out of this world.

During our stay in Ellalong, we decided to explore some new wineries and were so pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Carillion Wines. We were warmly welcomed and served by Victoria, who was absolutely exceptional. We enjoyed our experience so much that we returned the very next day!

This time, I had my two young daughters with me, but that didn’t take away from Victoria’s outstanding service. She made sure I still got to enjoy my wine tasting while juggling the little ones.

We went for standard wine tasting and ordered the charcuterie platter.

The wine tasting experience was enjoyable with great open views. The cost of the tasting is redeemable upon purchase, which makes it very attractive and a great differentiator among the wineries. We would go back to try the premium tasting.
