Mundaring Weir — Attraction in Mundaring

This is normally an excellent place to visit for a fun family day out, but be aware that you can't walk over the weir at the moment because of building works. It's still a good day out, though, as there's a whole range of things to do.

There are a few well signposted bush walks that start from near the craft centre opposite the Mundaring Weir. The CY O'Conner walk takes a couple of hours, goes through some beautiful areas and has some excellent views over the reservoir.

There are a couple of car parks, the northern park requires some walking through bush to access the weir, but there are also two parks adjacent to the weir crossing.

Access is great for all. Some access gates close at 4:00 pm, and some at 5:00 pm.

If you're a visitor to Perth and you've got a car with a full tank, then you should mosey your way to Mundaring and spend a few hours here even if you're just passing by. The drive to Mundaring to the East Perth is sickeningly pleasant bar the weather, and it's one of the most underrated body of water to visit in town that is not a river or the beach. Make sure you lock the car door though, as it can be eerily quiet. Watch out...
