Eden Road Wines — Attraction in Murrumbateman

Didn't plan on visiting Eden Road for a tasting but had time to spare before heading into Canberra and I am glad I did.

It's refreshing to go to a wine tasting where your host, in this case Tim, is not only knowledgeable, as you'd hope they would be, but also polite, personable and friendly. He oozes passion for wine and loves his job and the area. During our tasting chat he "dropped" a few names and antidotes from his previous life up at the Hunter and gave us a restaurant in Canberra to dine at (Brunello) which was fabulous, not to mention a wine merchant in Canberra.

Eden Road's wines were delicious and clearly have potential from the recent awards the reds have won. After a purchase of the 2023 Vintage of the Eden Road's Block 73 Riesling, Tim and I made a pact that in ten years time he'd like to drink this vintage. I will have to stash a couple of bottles away so I will be back. I forgot the name of the wine that Tim would bring but would trust it would hopefully be a good drop.

Nestled near the ACT, Eden Road Wines is a hidden gem where good times meet great wines. Our recent visit was made unforgettable by Tim, the guy who not only knows his stuff but also makes sipping wine an absolute delight.

We spent our afternoon exploring their wines, with the Sangiovese stealing the show. Tim's laid-back vibe and easy conversation made it the perfect way to cap off our trip from the west.

What sets Eden Road apart is their variety—there's something for every taste. The wines are fairly unique ranging from a somwhat new Fiano to a Nero d'avola.

Turns out, they've got a bunch of award-winning bottles, from Syrah to Chardonnay. It's like a winner's circle of booze.
