I recently had the pleasure of dining at Shaw Estate, and overall, it was a delightful experience. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere enveloped us in a warm and inviting ambiance that set the perfect tone for our meal. The decor was charming, and the soft lighting created a cozy feel that made it an ideal spot for a relaxing evening out.

The food was nothing short of exceptional. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavour, showcasing the culinary expertise of the kitchen. Whether it was the appetisers or the main course, every bite left us wanting more.

What stood out the most was the impeccable table service. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that our glasses were always full and that we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. It was clear that the staff takes pride in their work, which added to the overall enjoyment of our dining experience.

However, I did encounter a minor issue during our visit. Our table was rather wonky, which proved to be a distraction as our beverages kept spilling. While I had no specific expectations regarding the furnishings, I was slightly disappointed with the cafe-quality tables that didn’t align with the otherwise upscale vibe of the restaurant.

Despite the small hiccup with the table, my experience at Shaw Estate was overwhelmingly positive. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food in a wonderful atmosphere, and I look forward to returning to see if they have addressed the...

This is for the restaurant, not the cellar door. The “locals pasta night” is, in theory, a fantastic idea, but the execution fell really short. The pastas were tiny serving sizes, lacking in any kind of seasoning and only 2 of the options had some kind of protein. The garlic pizetta was overcooked and rock hard. Not to mention it is advertised on the FB page and physical menu as a “pizetta, pasta dish and wine for $30pp”, only to find out when the dishes were brought out that it’s one pizetta between 2 people… we were all left hungry after our small servings. Extremely disappointing and almost a scam vibe considering we know the quality the restraint is capable of with their regular menu. I’m all for supporting local businesses, but it’s hard when they repeatedly fall short of expectations. The wine was great and the female servers are all lovely, so this rating is not a reflection on them at all; they are worthy of 5 stars, but the experience advertised was not. I hope the management take this...

Shaw Wines is a lovely estate, the cellar door a substantial modern space and friendly staff. The baclony area over looking the vineyard and their dam, a great spot for a tipple on a sunny afternoon. Or, you can sit inside at one of their tables or lounges by the fire, still with a great view. Shaw have a private tasting room and sell wine merchandise and to take home.

Their tastings are free with a good mix of whites, red and also offer tastings of their premium wines which are very savoury. Their core range Shiras was the pick, it was very rich and fruit driven, plums and winter berries. This went down a treat with their charcuterie and cheese platter. There is also a rustic restaurant on side, called Olleyville, serving small, medium sized plates, shared meals and pizzas.

We enjoyed our visit to Shaw and it is well worth a visit to this winery. One of the nicest outlooks...

Nestled beside rolling vines in Murrumbateman, Shaw Estate’s Mediterranean-inspired restaurant offers a refined yet relaxed escape from everyday life. The airy, sunlit pavilion—complete with terracotta lighting, warm textures, and sweeping vineyard views—frames an unforgettable meal . The zucchini flowers were a delicate, pumpkin-cream‑filled delight, while the octopus—or squid—with chorizo and potato struck the perfect balance of smoky, savory charm . With its handcrafted culinary touches and elegant ambiance, this is a destination well worth lingering over, especially when paired with a glass of Shaw wine (or gin and tonic)
