A true wounder of nature. Sawn Rocks will have you in amazement at the natural stone formations with its striking colors. Access to the car park is from Killarney Gap Road. There are electric BBQ's, picnic tables and toilets at the car park area. The 750 meter walking track to Sawn Rocks excellent. Sealed track until you reach the metal walkway means those in wheelchairs will be able to enjoy this spectacular area without navigating any dirt what so ever. Perfect place to take the kids for a stroll in the pram as well. From the viewing platform you can continue further if you don't mind a few stairs and would like a closer look at the rock formations. The stairs lead you down into the creek below the viewing area where you can get a closer look at the five sided stone organ pipe shaped rocks that have fallen from the cliff into the creek.

Be sure to take a camera with you when visiting Sawn Rocks as you will want to show your friends and family this...

Walk is very very easy for such an amazing view. There is first a lookout view point not far along the path which is honestly awe striking and stops you in your tracks at the magnificents luckily there is a seat to do this, not far after the view point is a little path down to the creek bed which allows you to explore the fallen structures which provide a perfect natural seat to rest and take in the view. While I was there, there was no water in the creek so access was no problem. This can only be given 5 stars, its such a phenomenal natural occurrence that is rare to experienceand with it being to easy to access to all how can I...

An easy walk from the carpark to view an amazing rock formation. I recommend you don't stop at the viewing platform but, if you can, continue down the path & steps to the base of the Sawn Rocks and explore those that have fallen along with the creek (depending on recent rainfall and ability to access - we had no issues, Feb 8, 2022). Doesn't take long to walk out, have a look and walk back. Well worth the quick stop. Clean toilets at carpark (2), with plenty of parking, along with shaded picnic tables. Nice stop for lunch and...

Great easy 700m walk along an asphalt path and metal boardwalk to a viewing platform. The basalt blocks in the gully look like they are remnants of some lost civilisation but are actually natural. The gully is down some stairs. The carpark has bbqs, covered picnic tables, and toilets. The road from Narrabri to Bingara is paved. Access via Terry Hie Hie has 16km of gravel/mud with creek crossings. We aborted and had to head back to the Newell Hwy.
