Great location!!! I visited mid august, great range of beautiful little native orchids. Surreal Dryandra trees, cutie fascinating sundews. Well marked paths.

My partner who just started to get into orchids last year ended up spotting most of them before I did which was a nice memorable moment. She doesn't have the same physical endurance as me yet but that didn't hold us back as the good paths had everything we wanted to see right alongside. So if you're not the most confident bushwalker but have plently of enthusiasm I think that'll also be your expeirence. Overall a memorable trip.

The foxes lair website has tons of information, one of the best websites for a bush reserve in the state, has maps of where specific orchids flower in the reserve. If you visit I strongly recommend checking out the website first to make ur trip even better.

Foxes lair is also right next to narrogin, so the ease of getting a hot meal and a soft drink before starting the driving back to perth is a major plus

Not many cons:

Long distance to drive to if you're starting at perth. Small amount of invasive weeds in some areas, around the picnic area is worst for this, unavoidable anywhere near a town but...

Quaint little spot. It has really pretty wildflowers and a walking track: keep in mind there are 3-4 semi steep slopes. Best just before hot weather so all of the flowers open up, there's so many varieties you wouldn't want to...

Lots of bird life and lizards. Signs ok, but can be a bit of a maze - a good map is useful. Plenty walking trails. Good MTB circuit, about 5kms. Probably rated basic to intermediate, with a short beginners...

Reserve and arboretum with paths and picnic area. Council blocking trails with gates to try and prevent vehicle access. Popular with dog walkers but liberally sprinkled with broken glass, so be careful.
