Budgewoi Lake — Attraction in New South Wales

Budgewoi and Toukley lakes are in terrible condition,, years of neglect is having a allround impact on the area,, only a hand full of fisherman are seen trying to catch something,, so bad even the shops selling bait have closed,,very rare to see people swimming, boating and races that where regular events have moved to Lake Macquarie , depths of water are becoming shallow and dangerous for boating,, living by the water is a different thing today with the smelly weed,, areas flood around the lake because of the only entry and exit for water flow is blocked at the Entrance, unless the council and government departments start looking after the local environment, this situation will only get worse,, good note while not looking after water quality they have made some beautiful walking and exercise areas around the lake edge,, personally I would rather take my family 30min drive to...

Had a lovely evening stroll to lake Budgewoi when I stayed over Beachcomber Hotel nearby. A lovely place to walk and enjoy nature's beauty. It was sunset when I reached the lake and the lake glistened in its full gala beauty. Lovely families with dogs were spotted on the way. I would encourage anyone nearby to walk over enjoy the local scenery...
