Belmont Wetlands State Park — Attraction in Newcastle-Maitland

Worst weekend ever. I'm really angry I brought a annual pass because I will never go back. I'm really thankful I didn't take my children. Drunk P plate groups (multiple different ones) music as loud as they can partying all night in camp areas, doing donuts 1/2 mtr from other campers tents and cars and flying up and down the beach all night with people in the back of Ute's. I honestly don't know how someone didn't die, they were so drunk they fell out of the cars while trying to get out of the drivers seat. Police were called multiple times but didn't respond for 6 hrs, not there fault they were busy, but rangers should be...

The self appointed BWSP greeny/fun police have completely ruined everything that was good about this entire area. Their single focus has been to lock out and exclude anyone that doesn't fit their narrow minded vison of how the park should be used. This used to be a fantastic place to take the family camping, enjoy the great outdoors and have some good old fun, now all its used for is to take photos of BWSP wannabes planting a tree they can post a virtue signalling speal on Facebook and "watch birds"

Great place to drive on the beach however not the best to camp, rangers were really nice to us and said we had a great set up, lovely neighbours camping however, the ground is almost impossible to walk on bare foot with rocks/twigs/glass in the sand at the camp ground. For bathrooms they are about a 1km down the road and you have to walk on the road where there are plenty of cars. I think they have a lot of room to grow, possibly bring back beach camping or add...
