I really can't find anything to complain about when it comes to Speers Point Park.

Our latest adventure there was to attend the Lake Macquarie Growers Market where you'll find all kinds of fresh, usually home grown and home made produce.

Most of the stall holders are a delight with their information and stories - when they have time. Of course the produce is always fresh and tasty.

The park itself is constantly changing, growing, improving to suit the needs of the city of Lake Macquarie and it's residents as well as visitors. I've grown up here and have enjoyed witnessing the positive changes and advances made by LMCC over the years.

The park is not only a great place for markets, it contains picnic and under cover BBQ areas, it has a cafe run by the Salvation Army, it has one of the most amazing playgrounds you'll encounter, it hosts amazing events, there's facilities for concerts and events. There are exercise facilities dotted around the park for those who'd like to exercise. There is a leash free dog park. The park is opposite the local pool, right on the Lake as well as immediately adjacent to Lake Macquarie Regional Soccer Facility and more.

What more could...

Used to always come here for Carol's By Candlelight when it was on every year, but no longer do. The last time we came here for it, we were only here for probably about half an hour, until I looked up at the sky and noticed what appeared to be a tornado forming and said to my family, "I think it's best we pack up and leave right now because THAT don't look normal at all!" We packed all our things, just got to our cars.....and it hit! It hammered down, with severe hail and severe wind. We pulled over on the side of the road, not even 300m away from leaving the car park, as it was too insane! We stayed where we were for a good 20mins until it calmed down good enough for us to continue for home. Watching the news that night.....the ultimate devastation of the stage area and the area where we were sitting was just staggering. To be honest, I'm glad I actually looked up to notice the difference in the cloud formation! If I didn't take notice and we still sat there, we all would've been seriously hurt......or worse....dead. Other than that, it was always awesome...

Great little park. Or large. Because it is quite large. Great little children’s play area and lots of seats. For the bigger kids, there is a 7 metre spiral slide and flying fox and even a rock climbing area. There’s a communal “soccer field” and for the sporty/fitness ones, the is a 3KM fitness route with pull-up bars, sit-up chairs, Pilates, etc. There is a massive park (not playground) outside the actual playground. Grassy areas make perfect spots for picnics and family fun. If you forgot your food or dislike picnics, there is a neat, little cafe with great food and Ice cream (obviously) to your enjoyment. Family and friends can come and enjoy this park as it is open day or night. This park is even chosen to be hosted to some of the events happening in the Newcastle region. One example is the 2017 Speers Point Christmas Carols Event. Thousands of people attended. Hell, there was even massive...

Best park in Newcastle for both kids and adults, beautiful location and lots of activity options. Bench sheds & hot plates makes it ideal for any outdoor gathering. Lots of play equipments and some sand pits with water play options. Walking & cycling paths and even body exercise equipments. There's a cafe inside to fulfill your outdoor cravings. Scenic views of the beautiful lake Macquarie alongside the park. Accessible toilets and fair space for parking. All in one place to enjoy & relax with family and friends.
